Here is a link to his video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMsStTbGZpw

Good ole Nutn is at it again. I think we all owe the video a dislike to show our support for Rick. Personally I don't care what people do with their money but encouraging the support of thievery really bothers me.

I was just about to post this. Yeah, that's just poor taste. Ridiculously poor taste. He seems to always do that "We're not talking about the politics/controversy" crap. As if it actually excuses him supporting that kind of IP theft and nonsense.

I've been done with him for a while, until YouTube tossed that video into my "Recommended" tab. What. A. Schmuck. Straight up, this is a new low for his stupidity, and would love to express how much he disgusts me to his face if I get the chance.

I really have no idea why he would do this. The sad thing is that he has such a huge following that the video will generate a lot of business for these knock off vendors.

Only watched about 5 minutes. He openly stated it's a copy and they are stealing.

Eh, I can't really bring myself to care. Knockoffs suck but then I remember Rick's prices.

If you can hear a great rumbling in the distance, don't worry, it's just the tidal wave of butthurt that's going to wash over the TEE ENN PEE-er fanbase when they watch this video. ;)

Knife nuts might want to stock up on this before watching / venturing into the comments on that youtube video:

On one hand, I don't really care what other people do with their money. It's not my place to impose some kind of cheap morality lesson on someone else for buying chinese junk. Furthermore, I don't really care when, say, Sanrenmu makes a design suspiciously similar to a small sebenza, but puts their own name on it and is straightforward about the product they're selling.

On the other hand, I don't really like to see people ripping off a design and trying to pass it off as the genuine article, which the higher-end knockoff in his video is blatantly doing. That's a pretty big scumbag move on the maker's part.

Wow! Genuinely surprised that he made that vid.

He gets a lot of flak. Some of it deserved, some not. But I've never before seen him endorse thieves in such a manor. Very surprised.

I do not believe what I just heard. How can you support thievery. If a lot of those "TNP'ers" go buy it, they'll essentially be telling the Chinese "hey I support your thievery!!" That's why I don't buy Chinese.

What specifically did you disagree with what he said? I agree that he is a self important loon, but I didn't see anything that was against Rick. The politics and morals of knock-offs are a separate and distinct issue than the quality of said knockoffs.

You don't buy Chinese "because they are all thieves"? Everything a random Chinese person does is wrong then? What the hell man :-)

^That sounds like parroting of the brainless nonsense he says. You can't just tack on some justification or announce that supporting IP theft has nothing to do with the product itself and magically it's true. It's not. Some issues aren't separate, but married to one another. There really isn't much political about it, just moral. It's supporting blatant theft, and then whitewashing it with nonsense like "this is just about the gear". Yes, gear made from stolen ideas and sold as the originals that they're stolen from.

One wouldn't try to justify some random homicide by saying "Well, he was a real jerk, and a lot of people are better off now." It doesn't work that way just because you want it to. Some things are connected, no matter how stupidly they're wished otherwise.

Obviously the issue is not about it being made in China. If you have a problem with Chinese made products that is fine, it is your choice to buy them. The problem with this is that it is IP Theft. Nutn is supporting thievery. I guess it would be ok for me to take a dremel put NuntFancy instead of nutnfancy on the blade and sell it. In before the move as well :D.

Hahahaha, WOW. Looks like we've already made the leap of comparing buying a knife to murder.

Most people are sheep that need to follow someone, and for many, that someone is Nutn. And he pushes his favorite brand - Microtech - over every other brand. Okay, Nut, you like Microtech. That brand helped you save lives in the Air Force or whatever. Now do some unbiased reviews. There are other superb brands out there that don't start with Micro and end with Tech.

And, I am craving a Micro Whaleshark, so nothing against the brand. Just the relentless promoter of it.
