Nutnfancy

And I know Ive said this already, but his phobia about weight, arbitrary 4oz limit and over use of the word tactical, as well as seemingly being WAY too concerned with how it would work tactically in self defense.....gets old QUICK.

I dunno I am a pretty smart guy and I would carry my Natchez Bowie (It IS a fighting knife) every place if I could and it weighs a lot more than 4oz. I will take that 11 3/4" blade anytime over a puny sub 4" folder anytime. :D

But then again I would rather carry a 1911.

Cutlerylover and 'fancy have eaten up about 100 hours of my life and that's okay with me. Watching their vids beats the hell out of watching So You Think You Can Dance or Big Brother.:jerkit:

Watching paint dry beats that and most reality TV. LOL :D

If those are your only options I feel very, VERY sorry for you.

There are worse things to do with those 100 hours, I wouldn't comlain

I thought he would cut his leg off. It was awful. But just like a train wreck you cant look away sometimes.

He's a little bit too city for me but he seems to love doing it.

My guess is he gets stuff for free to submit the videos on.

I personally don't think there are any better review videos on YouTube than Fancy's. And, I think his knife reviews beat any others hands down. He should have his own one hour TV show on the outdoor channel.

I will occasionally watch one of his videos with the sound off in order to get a better idea of a knife's aesthetics. I cannot stand his commentary.

I like his reviews just fine. Not as straight and to the point as I might wish at times, but he provides a good service, I believe.

Obviously, he's not a trained professional, but I certainly hope he keeps doing them.

Yeah I think his reviews are great except when he rambles on about his own philosophies.

I think he is..... alright....

Sometimes his reviews are VERY helpful and other times I want to throw a hammer at the computer.

I dont like that no matter what you do or have he has done it alot longer than you have. Also dude, enough with all the big fancy words stop trying to show off.

Also is it just me or when he talks with his face to the camera doesnt his mouth look sideways?

Theres more to say but im tired.

Agree!

I do enjoy his stuff but 10 minutes on a knife is too long.

What he should do is get someone to edit his review down to say 3 minutes.

So you can watch the highlights of the review and get the gist of the thing or choose to watch the whole review if you are really interested in the knife.

hmm, here is an idea, if ya don't like his style or reviews, don't watch them, cause at the end of the day no one has been forced to sit there and watch them, and honestly, they are his reviews so pretty much he can say or ramble about what ever he wants to, I for one like the guys style and the service he provides, he is no more long winded than a baptist preacher, keep up those killer reviews bro!

I like his reviews for the most part. Though, I do wish he would use every knife he reviews. I understand in some instances that wouldn't be possible and that some of his reviews are personal users but for the others, it would be nice to see how they hold up at tasks other than just eyballing the fit & finish. I've had some knives that were beautiful and well finished but a little bit of use exposed them to be a piece of junk.
However, I continue to watch him and especially seek out models I may consider purchasing. It's alot better than no review, that's for sure.

I feel the exact same way.

I like his reviews. Take what good you can get from it, and to the extent that one may disagree, just cut him some slack. Its just a youtube video after.

I have a sweet spirit.

he's a good (and prolific) reviewer and overall his work is informative if not entertaining...but...couple things he does that i don't like...

he puts too much personal bias in many of his knife reviews; everyone has some bias, but i don't like strong personal bias in reviews...

also i don't like when he tries to "redesign" a knife...for example, he says in reviewing the zt200 that it's too heavy and the liners should be thinner...the zt200 was designed to be exactly the way it is (heavy with thick liners) for specific reasons...review a knife with the intention of its design and if the intent was successful, not how you think it should be...
