Nutnfancy's take on the Junglas

I did my Nutnfancy Vid SOP. Fast forward to 16 minutes and he is holding an SAK Cadet or something. He gets in to the meat of the review about 25 minutes in. This is a great blade....oh look, a squirrel. I like squirrels, especially cooked in the crockpot with some cream of mushroom soup. Oh Campbell's COM soup is my favorite. Oh yeah, back to the knife.....

Data points:

-Knife tested in more than one outing in environments that can be pretty hard on blades.
-Overall design and finish of knife are great, Rowen attention to detail superb.
-Sheath system dominates that of competitor knives in the same class.
-Junglas has bumped the RTAK II, his long time favorite large survival blade if you can afford the price difference, he recommends the Junglas.
-Apparently he also has a 6 in the project being tested currently.
-Mike Perrin is the newest subscriber to The Nutnfancy Project. :D

Uhh, not sure if the Mike Perrin part is accurate. Mike and I have already talked about this.

I can't sit through most of his videos. Gawd bless the guy, he is doing the good work for the knife and gun community no doubt and I envy the time he has to do it and the cash outlay he has to do it, but his mannerisms drive me to near the point of murder.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for the guy and his dedication to what he does.

Ok, I watched the first 30 seconds. My old cheap ass machete would have had that tree down in half the time. Seriously. Buy a Junglas if you wanna be the coolest looking guy on your street. But a machete if you really want to get some work done :D

i wana see the naked chick with a machete as well.

would you suggest batoning with a machete?

I have batoned many times with a machete. Sort of hell on the baton but it does work.

I don't know if Jeff would suggest it but I've done a shit-ton of batoning with cheap Tramontina machetes and haven't broken one yet.

They do tend to bind more due to the flexability in the blade but I just hit harder.:D

Excellent review imo. I think he points out well (albeit in a long-winded kinda way) the why, when, and where a knife like the Junglas is beneficial. Hell, if I lived in his environment of testing....I'd probably want one to. I'm not a Nutnfancy nutswinger by any means, but I have a real appreciation for what he does. There's really no one else on the net doing such thorough reviews of products I'm potentially interested in. I think he did ESEE, as a brand, a great service and I'm looking forward to his review of the ESEE-6.

I agree.
I'm anxious to hear what he has to say about the 6. I know it will be all good because he hasn't complained about any of the ESEE products tested thus far.
I will be conducting my own research when my "just purchased this morning" 6 arrives!!:D

Yea I didn't hear anything about Mike being a subscriber..just that he spoke to him on the phone.

Due to some of the comments I was lured into watching the WHOLE thing. Great review I thought but since I already have a Junglas I didn't learn anything that I didn't already know about it through my own use. I rely more on info from ESEE forum members than I do anywhere else. Especially since we're not biased:rolleyes.
Found it amusing when he mentioned the hog killing !Guess he hasn't heard about the tree stabbing yet. Happy New Year.

Not trying to be sarcastic here, but you mean you really can sit through 40 plus minutes of showing a knife do things????

I leave his videos running while I iron my shirts or clean up my place. The length has its place.

Holy crap, I just watched the whole thing. My ADD was kicking in big time but I made it through.

Good review IMO. Can't help but notice he wasn't as annoying in this video. Didn't hear him say "dood" or "caveat" once.

He was detailed and accurate. Didn't hear any misinformation like I have in alot of his other reviews.

Dispite my criticisms, I think he's doing the best reviews on Ewwtube.

'm with you. I wish I had his time togo out into the woods and play. He makes pretty dang good money form all of these companies from what I have heard. I'm very envious.
On his mannerisms. If I hear him say dude, dudes or dudets one more Muking time I am going to put my hands around someones neck and squeeze as hard as I can.

I dont know, i liked it. First time i watched his video all the way to the end, and i think it was a very good review. I was surprised how Junglas is pronounced though...i thought it was the same as jungle...but yea, i'm sold on that knife for real men.

For me personally its kinda hard to get hands on most of the ESEE products over here since the shops are pretty limited in the stuff they offer. Despite that, a RC-4 that I've seen at a dealer nearby was like triple the costs in the US with shipment and taxes already added...

Based on that, longer reviews like those of Mr.TNP with all the footage he rolls in, are a great help for guys like me getting closer to those nice tools. I use the word "tools" in here because you get a feeling for it how versatile a good knife can be... There are quite some other reviewers on the net and most of them got their points.

The good thing is its up to you which style of a review/er you prefer ;)

In the end, it was him turning me on to ESEE knifes with a RC-4 review :D

Thats about what I thought.
I usually let his table top videos run in the back ground listening.
