Nick
It's the "Magic Antler" :D , never fails.

Is the little etching that looks like sun rays the BF survival knife stamp?
Yup...it's on the right side of the ricasso. My eyes aren't what they used to be, and even with a magnifying glass, it's hard to make out. The best I can make out is "BFSK 2007". But, maybe I'm wrong. Nick would know for sure.

O.K...here are some pics to make you drool. I messed up the sheath already; it didn't take too well to the sno-seal that I put on it...gonna have to re-dye it.
You can make the Hamon out real well in one of the pics....Hey!...that snake's trying to make off with my new honey!

Looking good!

Hey, tknife. Let me ask you something....Are you as impressed with this knife as I am? I mean, I am absolutely "giddy" over this knife. I can't get over it.
I feel as though I need to call the Ex for some abuse just to get my feet back on the ground.:D

Troop just out of curiosity, seeing as how the list was made out with real names instead of forum names, what number on the list were you? I cannot wait for this knife! I love the look of the forum stamp. Small, but looks great.

But... That would reveal my true identity, violate all kinds of matters related to national security. :D Suffice it to say that I was near the top.
Don't mean to blow smoke, but I cannot believe how impressed I am with this knife. You will absolutely love yours; not like, LOVE.

Nick,
Please put me back on the list for a four-incher. Samo-samo, just with a four inch blade. And, please keep the same proportions, so make it with a little less of a belly. Same handle specs, though.
Thanks, Bro.

Definitely. As you can tell by my sig and by the pics and trips I've taken with it :D It goes with me to the woods all the time. It would be hard to pick a more perfect knife, for me anyway. And Nick is first class  A craftsman, and cool to talk to.

Thanks Thayne.

You got it Troop. The 4" model has a bit less belly.

Nick:)

I feel exactly the same way you do troop. Here is what I had to say about this knife in the other thread:
Got mine last night, it is simply amazing. Perfect grind lines, fit and finish is superb. This is my first full blown custom handmade knife and I must say I am extremely impressed. Nick is a true craftsman and an artist with steel.

This knife has done something else. I now realize after years of production knives why everyone suggests customs. You get the design you want, made of the materials you want, and as long as you chose the right maker, perfect fit and finish. I think it will be hard for me to buy production again. So thanks a lot everyone, there goes all my money."

And also:
Just a note to everyone who has not got there’s yet, you are in for a treat.

The thing that is amazing me is the levels of appreciation for this knife. The first initial reaction is: Wow! This thing is amazing well made and beautiful. So you focus and pour over the amazing fit and finish for a while.

Then you use it for the first time, whether it is just paper, an apple, or whatever. The reaction from this is: Holy crap this thing cuts like a laser. Cannot believe for such a thick and stout blade how well it will slice and dice and just cut anything.

I am now waiting for the first time I carry it and use in the field. Just from my first day with it and from tknife's experience, I know that I will gain another level of appreciation for this blade and the master skills of Nick. I have no doubt that I will be singing the same song as tknife and proclaiming it as my constant wilderness companion.

On a personal note, I notoriously have an initial buyer’s remorse on almost any purchase I make. Did I buy the right knife? Did I get one with good fit and finish, or one that slipped through QC? Was it really worth the money I paid for it? The moment I opened the box with this knife I felt none of that at all; just a great feeling of satisfaction. It really was a great purchase and buying process.

Sorry if this is a little much, but I just wanted to let Nick and everyone else know what a great knife everyone is getting here."

So needless to say I agree with you Troop.
