Nyala Has Landed ............

Such a beautiful knife. It'll compliment my Mnandi and Sebbie nicely.

Now I just have to find some cash for one!

Thanks, Rick and PXJAM. Hard to say! Rick, I see what you mean about the lighting being a possibility. Either way, I'm going to be anxious to get the shipping/tracking email today. :D

Can you post a spine shot, especially of the jimping on top?

Nice looking blade, I will have to pick one of those up at some point. :)

Rickster,

Thanks for the photos! Great looking knife and sheath.

I love the spiral grooves in the handle, but how do you feel about the lineal grooves? Would the handle look better, less busy, without the lineal grooves? Are they necessary and add to the grip?

Thanks!

TAH,
The Lineal Groves Feel Great, The Grip Is The Best Of Any Fixed Blade I have Ever Owned. Like I Said In My Original Post The Knife Feels Like An Extension Of Your Hand, I Would Not Change Anything. Its A "WINNER"

Sweet looking knife Rick. I was thinking about grtting a fixed blade last week.

Im Really Glad I Didnt Now. Thats definately one the top of my list.

Great pics too.

When I compare the colour of the micarta scales on the photos, the Proto seems to be much darker than Rickster's. Is it an illusion due to the light used while taking the photos, or is it fact? The darker scales look much better in my opinion...

While we are requesting pics.....could we get a shot in hand. (Along with size of hands...s,m,l) :)

I am guessing that's just a question of exposure and white balance. I could be wrong, but micarta doesn't come in all that many different colors.

Is the handle material easily removable/replaceable?

3 screws on each side and the scales fall off, Sure would look sweet with a couple of ivory slabs. Then it would never get used for sure...................

That's what I thaught... I just might have to do that! Now I am a bit excited about this one... as I do not like the handle at all.

Mine arrived this afteroon.

Gorgeous. Wicked sharp. Huge handle, compared to my Mountaineer 1. The sheath's static belt loop is less useful than the snap arrangement on the M1. Great blade shape/geometry.

I've been really impressed by S35VN in my MT-06 Mule. I'm looking forward to this one alot.

More comments will follow, no doubt... ;)

Rick, what's the date on yours? Mine was 4/20. Maybe a "registry" thread would be fun. Someone out there has the protos!

I'm still trying to figure out how to get the end of the handles off on the Nyala. :D

John, Mine also is 4/20

What exactly is the issue? Three screws, one is locked?
