October BOTM--847 Vantage Force Pro with genuine cocobolo and S35VN!

Delivered. Beautiful finish, action on mine is a bit … weird. Hydraulic-like - I can’t flip all the way open without a good wrist-flick. It actually thumb-rolls open easier than it flips. No biggie, it’s probably only going to be pocketed on special occasions, definitely not intended to be a heavy user. The real wood inlays give it a very nice feel. I like it.

Looks fantastic, Danny! Still waiting for my mailbox to deliver two BOTM Vantages today--one for me and one for my son-in-law. The Detroit area must be a wee-bit farther from Post Fall than from you and JB. ;)

Fire in the hole. Both of our BOTM's arrived this afternoon. Here I am with my son-in-law unboxing them for the first time. (I'm the old one on the left.) Fantastic Vantage! Slightly off-centered blade (no rub...easily adjusted), great wood tones, shaving sharp, finger flip most times. I went ahead and dropped a black clip onto mine. I felt it went better with the black hardware and black spacer and wood grain tones. Little oil and strop. Pretty happy!

I did a little minor surgery on the Vantage. I dribbled a couple of drips of KPL on the pivot and worked it in. That smoothed it out very slightly, but didn’t totally solve the flipping situation. Then I set to fiddling with the pivot screw, which wasn’t loose, but was surprisingly easy to turn. So I turned it all the way out and put a dab of CRK thread lock and turned it in until there’s no blade wobble, and now it flips more like I expected it to. Not quite as glassy and snappy as the Sprints, but close enough that I can snap it open with barely a wrist flick. While I was at it I gave I a quick, light stropping, and my goodness is this thing sharp. This might end up getting more carry time than I thought.

Received mine Sat. love the Cocobolo but alas I’m afraid that it slipped by quality so back off to Buck today. Stuff happens eh!
