October BOTM--847 Vantage Force Pro with genuine cocobolo and S35VN!

Man, another pass for me. I have one of the Vantage Pros with the blue sculpted handles from years ago, and I still recall how poorly that knife flips. Haven't carried it in years and don't see a need to have another. Good for those who are enthused and grabbing these, though!! Another swing and a miss from Buck trying to get my wallet open.

So, what are you hoping for? My list is short:

- Large or small Vantage in S30V or magnacut blade and ebony scales (no ball bearings)
- 300 Series model with S30V blades, long pulls, and ebony or bone scales (e.g. Solitaire, Companion, Cadet, Canoe)
- Saunter with ebony scales (and perhaps a forward brass or nickel bolster?)
- Marksman in S30V and tan micarta scales

Trying to stay humble here. But I about got what I wished for in #1. Not quite ebony or magnacut...but still a looker with excellent materials.

If my streak continues, we could be looking at a sweet 300 Series BOTM in November. Saunter in December. ;)

That or you'll get stranded on an island full of nothing but cocobolo trees, and you'll be stuck there forever!

I could go for a 300SRT with cocobolo trim!
😊

I'd consider the darker wood version, but there's no way to select it. Is it just luck of the draw? You get the color you get at random? If so, not really interested this time.

I wonder if this is things to come for BOTM. To me they said, hey, here's 100 or so works of art that we're not telling anyone about and were offering them at a great price. Don't forget to buy our buck of the month next week, it's special because we called it the buck of the month. BOTM lost a lot of appeal for me this year. Purchased 3. 1 I wish I could give back and the other 2 (brass 110 copper 112) are cool knives, but aside from being cut out of a solid piece of metal, there's not much to em. Actually bought a few customs this year, in direct response to not being interested in back to back botm offerings. Seems like the "stealth drop" is the new Buck Of The Quarter, and a more worthwhile offering.

Yeah, I had a similar thought. The Buck of the Month was mundane but right after a release from Danny that had a very high "wow" factor.

Do they distinguish between heart and sap? I’d be bummed about a sappy piece of coco on my knife.

Ordered! I’ve had a regular Vantage on my list for awhile. Make it out of S35VN and cocobolo, it was a no-brainer. That’s what my wife will probably say, too, when she sees another knife coming in the door - you have no brains. And she’ll be right. This will be my fifth knife since I said I was done just a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, now I’m glad I held off on the Vantage; I’d have been bummed if I’d bought the regular one and then this one came out.

Looking at the grind on this knife....
Does it look different?
Maybe it's the lighting, is it a flat grind....?
Probably not. 🤔
I watched the video, I cannot tell for sure.
