Oeser Knives...

Thanks for the nice review Stu. That Westinghouse micarta is some really cool stuff. I think your pics show the color a little better than mine. It's hard to capture and is definitely something special to look at in person.

One funny things about that micarta, as I was grinding it and working with it, it even smelled old, if that's possible. Kind of like the dust in my grandma's storage room. Sure finishes off nicely though.

Here is my J. Oeser knife I got Monday. It's a Eureka Jack pattern in CPM 154 and thunderstorm Kevlar micarta. I am very pleased with it. It has a very unique look to it.

Jared, if you don't mind advice, if you can smell it during the grinding operation, either your ventilation needs improvement, or you should be wearing a better respirator. Ix-nay on the smelling.

I should have stated that better. The smell of the dust that was on me was very potent, so much so that when I came inside after grinding my wife could smell it. I couldn't smell it while grinding, just after. Most materials have a specific odor and this stuff has one of it's own . . . vintage.

Ah. Good.
I understand about the residual smells of stuff after grinding operations. (not knives, but all kinds of other metals, plastics and such.)

Finally got some time to post! Here is the Oeser zulu thay I was lucky enough to get - and it is amazing! The fit and finish is fantastic and I love the linen micarta it feels great in hand and looks warmer than the pics show! Thanks again to Jared for making a fantastic tool that I am looking forward to using and passing on to my kids!

That's a fine knife, and I love your perspective (bolded above). Congratulations!

Here are a few I finished up recently. Some new ideas and a few new, to me, models.

4 1/8" Zulu

A TSA Zulu that measures in at 3 3/16" closed and meets the blade specs for the TSA guidelines.

And a pic of a TSA next to a 3 3/4" and 4 1/8" zulu

And my first 4 1/2" back pocket

Wow!!! The contrast between the ivory and the burlap is really nice. And what is the handle material on the one below it in the group shot? Very cool. Great stuff as always.

That's actually white linen with the burlap.

The Zulu below that has some old Westinghouse black canvas micarta. Really cool stuff.

Yeah, I meant, uh, ivory colored. That's it. What's worse is you already described it on facebook. Oh well, looks awesome.
