Oeser Knives...

That's a lovely knife, John. I'm certain it will serve you well.

The drool factor is high with that one John.
The Ivory looks as well hafted as any I've seen. Congrats!

That there's a purty knife, John. Enjoy it in good health. Jared's doing some great work. Congrats to you both.

I can't say it better than that. Well, okay, I could say it with better English, but even then I couldn't add to it.

Well done, Jared, and congratulations, John. :)

That's a beauty John.

I can't tell from the pictures, but is the shield etched too?

Thanks all for the kind words.

Rob, the shield is not etched, it's actually mirror polished. I used that angle and flat lighting to show the most texture in both the ivory and blade as is possible. The shield is showing the ever so slight texture in the mirror finish reflecting my black camera body. Could photograph it so the shield and pins are solid white, but that doesn't show how fine the finish is. There is a pin somewhere in the bolster, but I can't see it, even in a high res photo ... the shield is pinned too, but again ... can't see any pins. Here is another slightly different angle showing the blue sky and clouds reflecting in the mirror shield. Mostly sky reflection in the bolster with a little fall colored oak tree in the mix too.

Those are some great pics as always John. I was looking forward to seeing yours because they are so much better than I can do. Hiding those pins was a long learning process in the beginning but I feel pretty confident with my abilities in that regard.

And thanks for the kind comments everyone. I've been a little absent around here lately but hope to have more knives to show soon.

Gorgeous knife, Trey!!

That burlap looks fantastic with that ebony?. The shield ties it together well. The blade shape is unique and looks very useful. Congrats!!

Say hello to Charlie at the El Chaparral Mexican restaurant in town there. Best Mexican food for hundreds of miles.;)

I love J's knives, he's a humble but highly talented new maker. I covet his knives and we have a project knife in the works,
to say I am anxious is an understatement.

That's a really original design, very cool! One of the most original I've seen in a while. I'd like to hear the story about the blade shape. Is that a collaboration or Jared's idea?
Can we have more pics please?

Thanks for the comments, gents. I picked the basic blade shape, Jared liked it and ran with it. We settled on the colors after some discussion, I like how masculine they are. I'll post some more pics later, I have his that I need to upload.
