Oeser Knives...

The colors remind me of a black and tan draught! The blade, quite useful, very very nice!

Thanks for the kind words on this one guys. This is probably the first knife I would feel good about calling a "prototype". Trey suggested we do a blade that was a sheepsfoot but slightly modified. So I just envisioned giving it a treatment similar to Tony Bose's zulu. I put a little curve in the spine of the blade for comfort and aesthetics and there you have it. I had a hard time letting this one go. :) I call this pattern the Native.

These are really beautiful knives. Will certainly be watching for one of these. Thanks to everyone who has posted pictures. Made for a very enjoyable Saturday afternoon.

Here is a swayback I recently acquired from Jared. It has not left my pocket since I got it. It is so light and strong that I never feel a need to carry anything else. His fit and finish is truly amazing and I love the O-1 steel. I really enjoy watching the patina morph each time I use it.

The first time I sharpened it I used my wickedege at a 20 degree angle and it is holding an edge very well with only a light stropping every once an a while.

How are you all keeping your Oeser's sharp?

Nice knife, I love Jared's O1. Honestly, I use a sharpening steel I bought from a yard sale, it is marked Solingen and it's about all I use anymore for all my knives.
Works very well. I don't know anything about it but I get decent results from it.

I strop mine.

Just used it to carve a pinewood derby car (it and a canoe/gunboat with a shorter coping blade).

Thanks Brent! I've been meaning to make one for myself. It's a really pleasant pattern to use.

Jared, I really like that native pattern. That looks like a great knife for edc.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Here are some pics of recent knives that were fun to make.

Jared,
Is that first one a ebony trapper? I think that's the one I have and have been carrying everyday since I got it.

I wish I wasnt so broke, I really need another Oeser in my pocket. Keep up the great work my brother. Love seeing pics of the new ones.

I just use an Arkansas tri hone, works great.

Jared,
seeing more of your knives is time well spent ;)
The wood on the WT looks quite familiar :p and I really like your dogleg frame.
Sooner or later, I might give up and contact you again... ;)

Great stuff there Jared. Love them all. The blade picks really look cool, they reflect your style very well.
