Off Topic: Batman Shooting

Is that their policy?

I can't remember where, there's been so much said everywhere about this incident, but somewhere I heard the particular theater doesn't allow c&c. Therefore by law, if they remove your right to defend yourself, they're required by law to provide armed security for you.

Not arguing, but I never heard this.......what about places such as Public Libraries, Banks, (Our Hospital has 24 hour unarmed Security, and usually one armed LEO "most" every time I have been), Bars and ever other place you cannot legally carry? What law states armed security "must" be provided at the cost of the establishment?

As a citizen who does not go out with the intention of breaking the law or participating in criminal activities or behavior and having NEVER been stopped AND searched (been stopped as a juvenile, but never patted down), I would rather face the possible consequences of being caught with my pistol rather than not having it and needing it.

Public libraries, banks, schools, and the like are federal buildings. Hospitals around here have armed security. Bars serve alcohol. All the above are exempt from the law. I work in a state hospital, also federal building & we have our own police force. The only way the theater could get around this is they charge admission. Another loop hole for the law. I will say that I haven't looked too deep into this matter, as it was taught to me when I took the c&c course. It was specifically brought up in regards to certain walmarts allowing concealled carry & other's not.

Could you please post a link to the "law"? State or Federal We have a private hospital here with no concealed carry and they provide NO armed security, Private schools are also no carry establishments. Several businesses are also no carry....none of which provide security.

Um libraries, schools, banks, and the like are not Federal Buildings. I am pretty sure you are wrong on all counts with this one.

And it is State law that regulates if you can CC in a bar or restaurant.

Ok, apparently I'm wrong about the "law" requirement for security. Certain states do allow business to limit c&c on premises. It's called the "opt out" statute & if the business is within certain parameters, they can make their own "gun free zone." From what I'm finding those states are, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Texas. Having said that, even though my googlefu isn't up to par, I'd have to sue any business that took my right to defend myself & didn't provide one for me in an incident like this.

Louisiana also. All you have to do is post a Sticker on the front entrance and BAM!!!! You break the law on concealed carry if you don't notice it. Pretty shitty

This is sad indeed. It is a shame to see the media (in Brazil) blaming the "gun culture" and taking advantage of the acts of a crazy person to do anti gun propaganda.

Opps I posted this in the wrong thread... I need to start drinking. Removing and posting in proper thread lol.

I'm wondering if prescribed psychiatric meds didn't push the psycho into mass murder? Easier to blame the gun, I guess.

One thing for sure. You certainly cannot blame the individual. That went out of style around the time John Wayne passed.

Trying to ascertain rationality in an irrational act sells more media.

No... lets blame guns, drugs, parents, education, video games, violent movies, lack of fiber in his diet... or anything else.

I think if we can't just blame the murderer... we should blame it on that big purple dinosaur. Barney. He'd drive anyone to violence.

Now this #%^*head screwed it up for all of us law abiding folks, did you guys read about NYC mayor mike bloombergs outcry to have the nations Police go on strike until they take all our guns away? Does that make any sense?? Stupid politicians always grandstanding on any incident, he should be sending his billionaire money to aid those families not spending money and time putting heat on guns?? He even spends his personal Money setting up straw purchases out of state to try to regulate guns out of state. Guess what the guys guarding him are carrying?? So it's a priviledge for the rich and powerful and us regular low life folk aren't allowed to exercise those basic rights? Tell him to get his security unarmed first then start talking crap about guns! Blaming guns is like blaming the pencil for crappy spelling, IDIOTS!!

You know, i think i like that idea... if the police all go on strike, gun sales would go through the roof

Even sheeple who had previously believed "the police will protect us" would be scrambling for a gun.

talk about an overwhelmingly stupid solution... LET'S DO IT!!

So back a few years ago cities were suing the gun manufactures because people were being killed with certain guns, and sadly the cities were winning.

I ask where are the victims suing the theater or whatever else that prohibits you from carrying a personal protection firearm to protect yourself with ?

My ex-wife had a standing order if I got shot and killed while being robbed in the course of my linen delivery route, that the company prohibited me from carrying on, was to be sued.

She was to sue them for all she could.

Am I sue happy, no, not at all.

I think we should carry where we need to is all.

Sue them for inhibiting your rights and see what happens.

I wish a lawyer would take up one of these cases and stand for what is right.

Politicians rarely think things through very well and their actions often have unintended consequences. Nanny Dumberg needs to get back to brilliant policies like saving us from large soft drinks (people can't just buy two smaller drinks???) and putting windmills on top of the skyscrapers in NY city to solve their energy needs.

How did an idiot like that get so rich???

Yeah, I'd like to see all these anti gun politicians do without their bodyguards and police escorts.

Give them a handgun and save the tax payers a lot of money. :D
