unfortunately. it's mostly a matter of habit, and antiquated systems, as well as not knowing they have other choices... the bane of my existence. hell, we made it a point to NOT support IE and would suggest to customers that they install something ... better.

especially, OLDER versions of IE which have flaws... the new version 8+ stuff is basically as good as anything else, from an installed base point of view. properly rendered modern webpages work fine there with little incident. ironically, there are websites that ONLY cater to IE. idiots :>

then again, chances are good, that many people running any version of windows probably have infections, and so forth most people aren't concerned about it, unless their machine just doesn't work. don't know to, or don't care to install anti-virus stuff, or apply updates. course, imho, these same types of people also never take care of their cars. it works, or its doesn't. heh.
