I was looking at the wrong auction then. Cinci or Camillus?

Wasn't me. I was just curious what a Cinci would go for these days.

the only CinCinn machaxs i saw on ebay recently were all by the same seller, SAME PHOTO, and they had like 6 of them? SIX successful sales of a 30 year old uncommon knife with the same photo. i wonder if anyone got ripped off? certainly that doesn't sound kosher as each knife would be different (hand made)...

Yeah, I was just looking at those. That didn't seem legit. Plus they advertised them as Camillus era. Really weird and suspect. They all sold in the $240 range. The vendor does have 100% positive feedback though.

He had it listed as a camillus fighter version but in the pics it's clearly a cinicinnatti.

I'm not seeing that auction at all in completed listings. I see a similarly titled listing from back in November. Sold for $406.
"Becker BK4 fighting version MACHAX camillus khukuri knife tool gurkha kukri BK&T"

ETA: Okay it just showed up in completed listings. Yeah, that looks like an old Cinci all right. Nice old stamped leather sheath to boot.

ah, here we go...

o Machax warrior: 307 (today - ), 406 (back in Nov 2011 (i think one of us got that)),

o Various NIB hard chrome Machaxen by SAME VENDOR, SAME PICTURE: 240, 250, 250, 255, 259 !!!

o used hard chrome: 210 - was marked as camillus, had eagle sheath, and leather cord wrap (i think one of us got that)

o bunches of actual camillus models with plastic/kydex sheath: 390 (failed) retry at 250 failed, 321 (previously failed at 250 - twice)

good racket :)

not just Cincinnati, not just "fighters" but *warriors* both of those are old but...

given that only 50 blanks were made (according to several sources), and 25 claimed to have actually gotten out the door, quite rare. i've only ever seen *4-5* in person and they were all hard chrome. i owned 2 of those, but returned one of them due to its condition - damaged and not worth the $$$ paid for what was supposed to be flawless. oh well :) we like good return policies. the others i've seen were at a show or Ethan's. since then, i've seen a couple trickle through ePrey.

the handles are estaloc material and are not shaped properly for modern Camillus/KaBar handles (micarta would not fit without mods).

one of the sheaths (today's) is made by Gary Brommeland Leather Sheath - 10 oz leather and is VERY rare. i've only ever seen a couple. Ethan has 3 or 4, i have 1. the other is the intermediate leather sheath they offered in place of the Eagle Industries sheath, esp towards the end when they ran out at Blackjack.

these two are the nickel-phosphate, which means they are slightly later gen than hard-chrome, but i've never seen or heard of them before. neither has Ethan. i just about shat myself when i saw that one in November. was outbid too ;)

[some places i've been saying phosphate-bronze incorrectly, bad brain, it's nickel-phosphate]

i'll be saving the images of the auction for my files...

Gotta couple goody boxes in the mail today. First was my dividend check from a big name gear store(name is on the paktowel). Shammy/paktowel for the woman and a snowpeak mug/pot for me.

Next was my coyote lighter from Flexxx with extra awesomeness. The fatwood, tinder straws and ESEE liners. Very u-expected, but very appreciated. Thanks again Flexxx!

The Ontario Blackbird should be here tomorrow.

Good stuff Murph, glad it made it..................that was fast

If you decide to put them on you Esee 5 it will need a little sanding, take off 0.034" on the inside of each micarta slab.
Those are the thick Orange liners I sent you, and they will look aweseome and fit your sheath perfect once you do the work.

Cool, good to know man! Thanks guys, I'm pretty stoked today. I feel like Clich!
