BRL, seriously, get some river clay, some yellowroot, a burlap sack, and a bottle of Scotch. Mix the clay and yellowroot into a poultice and wrap it in the burlap. Then, throw that shit away and drink the Scotch.

Just wash the dirt off your finger and it will look normal again....

Just ordered a BK-5 from Tomar. All of clichenwalnut's posts about how amazing the 5 is made me want one. Pics to come when it arrives.

A belt sander and a bench stone. What you are essentially doing is knocking off the factory secondary bevel (the shoulders on the factory edge) by making the blade a true full flat grind. Then hitting the bench stone and putting on your own toothy microbevel. Makes the sucker cut like a serrated edge, but slice like a spyderco. Its like a dream

Question for any of you guys who have worked with leather, what weight would be a good thickness for making a sheath. I am thinking of making a stacked leather one for my 14 but not really sure what kind would be right. Any ideas?

8-9 oz should be the largest you would need. You could even go 5-6 oz and it will still be a beast of a sheath.

I use 13 oz leather, mostly, because its what I got, and for most knives other than a BK2, its just WAY too much.

Stick with the 5-6 oz, its solid and will do you good. Be sure and get a shoulder cut, and stay clear of the belly cut leather, its just too flimsy for a good sheath.
