Any of you Beckerheads have an opinion on this knife? It's been calling my name for a while now and since the tweeners won't be out in January like first thought I am haveing a hard time saying no. It is the Ontario Blackbird Sk-5. Designed by Paul Schieter of Hedgehog leatherworks.

I like it. Full flat looks nice. BTW, iirc, the tweeners won't be available to purchase until March. I think the Shot Show is just the official unveiling.

Yeah Dresnor, I've been mulling that one over for a long time. I'm hoping I have one in my untouched Christmas pile. I have reason to believe it's that or a Junglas. Either way I'll have both by the end of the month. I've read everything I could find on the Blackbird and still haven't found any reason to say no.

from what I've heard of the Blackbird, the handles are bricklike in shape and ergonomics.
my JK bushcrafter (on the left) didn't cost much more with a 4.25" blade and leather sheath.

Making fourteen inch goloks out of a boxfull of Trams for a guy. The first five inches is scandi ground, the remainder is "Fisked". Squared spines for shaving tinder and the ricasso squared for firesteel scraping. Tip end is rounded over for a handhold for use as a drawknife. Here's one halfway done.

Looking good tw. Damn, you got your work cut out for ya. No pun intended.

Trade when you gonna start making some up for us to buy?

I may get a case of them and do that. I've had one out playing with it this morning. I want one. Light as a feather but damn it's wicked.

Ugh all those bk2 pics in my GAW thread makes me want one again. Stupid xmas credit card bills won't allow it. Blah.

Just ordered an OD (what else?) Snugpak Sleeper Lite, a Frogg Toggs DriDucks poncho, and 2 Pro Force fold a cups for $72 shipped. Looking forward to getting these in, along with my Zebra pot. Merry Christmas to me. Twas all my Christmas money.

Hell yeah Trade, looks way more effective than the old Martindale tree beaters! Good project!

This is my first canister stove and so far I'm really liking it, packs up tight, is light, cooks fast and with the ACTION SPORK nothing will stop me.....:D

Nice Flexxx. I have a Brunton Raptor stove, like it a lot.

That's a slick little setup Flexxx. I like canister stoves for most stuff now. Reliable and quick. White gas for expeditions, but cannister for just about everything else.
