No, thank you. Without all of the great things you've said about it I would have never got it.

On the other hand, you and clich warned me against getting the HEST 2.0. But it kept eating at me till I bought one. And I love that too. I carry it more than anything else now :D
 
I just traded my hest +cash for a BM skirmish. The 275 is almost everything I wanted the hest to be. I still think it's a good knife but something just bothers me about it. Maybe I shoulda carried it more.

IIRC you can - let the sediment settle out between uses and it will get weaker over time.

thanks, I poured it back in the bottle, may filter it with a coffee filter next time I use it. I just have one more knife I gotta do at the moment anyway.
 
I found info on how to make the stuff, but looked hard and tedious and you have to do it outside. And I think the neighbors would assume you are cooking meth.

Fair enough :) I usually don't keep mine chambered in the house, but they do have full mags.

Dangerous is cool, but chemicals make me nervous

The 550 is next on my list, you have the elmax version right? How do you like elmax, and could you post a pic of size comparison(for some reason in my head I see it as small, like delica sized)

Here's some size comparison pics. 0350, 0551, Para 2, HEST 2.0. Looks like the Para 2 is just a bit longer overall. The 0551 is just so much beefier in every possible way though.

Thanks cap'n, That is a perfect comparison cuz I own(or have owned)every knife in that pic except for the 550. Yeah that is the next thing on my list. Now this might be a stupid question, but are they going to be a production run or limited?
 
No problem. I know you have, that's why I put those knives in there :D The 0551 was a limited production run of 1000 pieces. The 0550 is a full production knife.
