I carved a lanyard bead this weekend in Arkanian's likeness. It's insulting and also probably kinda racist. I suspect he'll like it. I am debating whether to post a pic here or only in chat. Thoughts?

i've been tempted to get this moisin nagant at the LGS, complete matching serials on accessories, bayonet, etc. $185 though. seem a bit high.

as i've mentioned before, i might just snag a cheaper one for "just shooting" shortly.

want a clean SKS as well.

Is there anyone out there that can get flint pretty easy; like in their yard or something?

I wouldn't mind having a piece. I don't think that we have it out here. The closest we have, that I know of, is quarts and it's fragile for some reason, so I can't get a spark from it. So if you would be willing to send me a piece or two of flint rock, I'll send you some fat wood if'n ya want some.

I've got a piece of Brandon flint if'n you want it. That altoids tin sheath is dank by the way.

What id Brandon flint? and I hope that dank is a good thing :D

If that flint is something you had to pay for I'd rather not get it from ya. I really don't need anything fancy.
 
What we have around here is actually chert, but it will strike a spark. Everybody calls it flint, but it's not. I don't know where you can get actual flint. Anyway, I'll find you some of it.

I got it from the Midwest Native skills institute. It was 5.00 for a bag containing 3 chuncks of it. Suppossed to throw the best sparks, I don't have any basis for comparrison since this was the first flint I ever used.

I just looked it up. It's the real deal from Europe. That's why it sparks so good.
