Morning guys, just getting up and about to pack the truck for our camping trip.

Been a long week, think I'll be making a Black&Tan/Friedman's/Brown's/Bass Pro Shop run today.

Trade
Amen to that. It has been a long week. Supposed to rain today and Saturday. But, Sunday is supposed to be perfect to straddle the Harley and spend the day on the road going no place in particular. Enjoy your shopping run.

Good morning. Yesterday the little one was sick he threw up about 10 different times all over the house and he had the craps fun stuff! He seems to be feeling better now the plan was to go camping this weekend so I hope so.

Good morning folks!

Hey Derek,

Good news from Guyot. Production on the Gription is going ahead. The gal the OR booth assured me it was happening. Although she did get a pained look on her face when I brought up the subject!

The other good news is that their stainless water bottles will also be available this fall. She said that Nalgene had committed to a new production run.

Here is a quick pic I snapped at their booth.

Gus, you're the man, man!

I run malware/spyware/AV checks twice weekly with 5 programs (Avast!, SuperAnti-Spyware, MalwareBytes, Spybot S&D, and Adaware). Nothing wrong on my end. Not to mention, I've been using this same credit card for 4 years with nary an issue, until I popped on Amazon again. You'd think if it were a problem on my end, someone would have tried using it before now. Also, it can't be on my end, because I didn't even have the credit card number to type in the first time it was stolen. Nope, just doesn't add up, and the coincidence of having my card stolen twice, both times after shopping on Amazon, is a little too high for me to feel safe purchasing off of there. Just because you haven't had your number stolen yet, doesn't mean it's safe.

No doubt. I will never use my debit card in a situation where it's out of my sight or online. It's way too risky. I've had a credit card number stolen a few times in the past 10 years. Each time, the the company covered it and there was no effect to me, other than I started playing it safer. One time, I know it was a furniture store employee that took it. They used a card imprinter for the payment and it was the next day that some local spending started happening. The other times it was related to online vendors being hacked. I now no longer allow any company to save my card information for future purchases and most time I'll generate a one-time use card number on my credit card's website, then use that single-use number for making the payment.

Enjoy! I really want to get up to the Porcupines soon. For some reason we've never ventured into the UP.

People are often paranoid about online stuff, but then they don't think anything about handing their credit card to a slinky looking waiter who's probably broke. :D

No doubt, try a mcdonalds drive thru. Never even thought about being ripped off til later that day the cc.company called me asking if i bought stuff online from mexico, i traced it back to my purchase a mcdonalds. Now when i give someone my card i watch them, no copying numbers from this clown anymore.

Wisconsin has actually asked on your taxes every year for at least the past 5 that you report your untaxed purchases and pay the sales tax at that point. I've questioned the legality of that, since the vendors that don't charge sales tax don't have a presence in this state. If anything, I figured you should pay sales tax local to the company you are doing business with. I guess a ruling like that would negate that question entirely.

but it's a tax on purchasing, not on selling. It's a consumer tax.
the retailer is merely collecting the tax on behalf of the state gov't.
they tax your income when you're paid, then they tax it again when you use it... yay.

Got my replacement Kelty in yesterday. No more single strap MOABness. The woman decided she needed that pack.

kansas does this too - but they give you the option of paying a $45 flat tax if you don't have all your receipts handy to show you paid tax on all your internet purchases. (about 1/3 of the places i buy from already collect sales tax for Ks.)

yes, but now 'they' are 'us' and it's all very confusing.

Metalheads, the new Testament, "Dark Roots of Earth", is quite nice. I love those guys.

In other news, Wife-for-now (I say that in a friendly way; we're on good terms & this looks to be an amicable split) grabbed a bunch of chainsawed mesquite from the kids' school and asked me to split it. BK-9 is going to get a workout this weekend!
