There are many people who spend very little time thinking about the world they inhabit.
That's because they inhabit very little of the world, I think. If you can't see out of the crab bucket, you'd think it was the whole universe.
Since sunflower seed butter and dark chocolate chips are practically health foods, I figure they cancel out the ice cream and redi-whip, making this sundae effectively zero calories. Excellent.
Too much thinking about the world you inhabit, and some serious flaws in your logic. Just don't let your mind wander off and order a meal you can't pay for.
apparently nobody loves me enough to have let me in on this deal
I got you one - with my BH# on it. Email me for details on this exciting offer today! Seriously though, if you'd just pay attention and stop modding so much, you might have stumbled into the thread on your own. You have to love yourself before other people can love you.

Two very long days of work. Today was pretty awesome, in that I got to handle some pretty cool steel at a customer's house....an antique dealer and auctioneer. Didn't take any pics, but there was an older Ka-bar, a short Japanese sword that was absolutely beautiful, an old gravity trench knife, an African dagger, a very nice Al Mar fixed blade (small, almost a pocket knife with a foldover sheath) A knife made in Greenland with a bone handle and a highly decorated sheath made of reindeer antler and some others that I don't quite remember. Also a 250 year old pocketwatch that was an unbelievable piece of craftsmanship. Even the posts holding the gear plates apart were carved into super miniature greek columns. It also had a miniature chain wrapped around one of the gears and it had to be wound with a key....Not often someone lets you hold something that old. Totally worth the long day.

So I got a notice today. My landlord is selling the house so I gotta move within six weeks. Bummer because the living situation is pretty good here but hopefully I'll be able to find something similar. Already sent out maybe a dozen emails and got a couple replies on places.

I like it Daizee, Just make the cutting edge 15" and were all set :D

Ah, gotcha. I may need to contact Mr. Siegle, his Jungle Knife is popping up a lot lately.

Do it! His jungle knives look outstanding.... But then again, Dude, you have 2 M-18's!

The Boss has one that he let me inspect a while back, I was quite impressed for whatever that's worth.

Bill Siegle's knives are amazing!
Tough, badass blades of differentially hardened 5160, comfortable high quality handles, and amazing kydex sheaths.
I've been so lucky to see and handle his knives at the Beckerwest gatherings.
His larger blades just beg to be beat on.
He's a really cool dude too!

And if you give it to The Kid... He'll be able to decapitate himself in no time flat!

Heh. The Kid's allright... I sincerely hope he shows up at the Gathering with his Dad. It's pretty dang important for us to welcome youngsters into our culture. (it's also important that we show folks how to NOT split their skulls open...)

Meat cleavers, beef and lamb splitters, hell yeah!

Several years ago, I did a re-handle job on a vintage lamb-splitter. I offered to buy it from the client, but he declined. :(

I know he's alright. Not as alright as Dj who acts seriously beyond his years however he is also 5 years older than the kid which in teen age years is a lifetime! I actually do like how much the kid gets out and puts in work in the woods. While I won't make it to the gathering I hope for his sake he does. There is lots to learn on the mountain.

Woohoo!! I can walk through the doorway from my entryway to my living room again!! I just put together a shoe rack and put all the girlfriends shoes and my boots on it. I have 2 pairs of boots on it and she has 9 pairs of "shoes". And she thinks I have too many knives.......

My wife use to sell womens shoes...... The fancy ones. She literally has over 100 pairs of shoes easily... she has over 30 pairs of boots.... No joke she has a closet full of shoes, my daughter's closet has more of her shoes in it, She has more shoes in our coat closet.... And i think she could have some more i dont know about hidden in other places...

I have 2 pairs of tennis shoes... 1 for outdoor fun, the other for "dress-up"... And 1 pair of dress up "boots".

I also have 2 pairs of sandals. And I wear them 90 percent of the time. I got some fat feet. My toes squish together and start hurting even with tight socks. I wear a size 10.5-11 size shoe most the time because of the width of my foot.... But when i can find shoes i actually like in wide sizes my feet can actually fit a size 9.5-10. I had some Extra wide boots in the Army that were size 9.5... First time i had foot wear that was matched to my feet..... When i got out i kept wearing those boots until the soles fell off....

Jonny... How does that chisel ground chopper work out? I like the way it looks, and im not an expert but it seems like it might only be efficient chopping on the side of the grind. Do different angled cuts still work out with it? I dont have much experience with chisel ground large blades so im just curious.

It looks awesome. Id love to sink it into some wood and see how she acts. Especially making the first "scarf" cuts.

Ok another subject... I was talking with Dan the other night and we talked about something i wanted to talk to you guys about...

There is almost a quarter million members here on BF... Maybe not all active members but there is still 18000+ active members here....

My question is how come more people are not interested in cutting in bladesports? How can this many people like knives but not want to use them in a sport designed for using knives? So many people talk about the BEST knives.. but there is a sport designed for finding out just how close to the BEST it really is....

The moment i learned about Bladesports i immediately sent an email and PM to Dan.. I wanted the Knife he used and i wanted to be apart of this awesome sport of cutting. I saved for MONTHS for that knife And come August i will be getting certified and trained under Dan to cut in events... Im not doing it because i think ill be one of the best... not even close, the thing is I LOVE using knives... And want to get better using them....And i know others here love using knives too....

But the sport is not doing great.... Less and less people are getting certified, and even less competing lately. There was an even last year... or maybe the year before that every single person who went to cut at nationals made it to world because there simply wasnt enough cutters.

Why not? If this many people like using knives.. why are there not more people wanting to be part of this sport?

I bet if you go to any park in America and find anyone playing basketball or football for fun and asked them if they wanted to play in the NFL/NBA and get trained under the best of the best in the world there would be very few if any NO's...... So why is there not more people interested in cutting in Bladesports??

Just curious.
