Just wanted to show off what I've been working on today.

My first time making wooden knife scales and attaching them to a blade. I learned a lot. Like make the extra trip to the store and get the 30 minute epoxy instead of just using the 5 minute stuff you already have. Man that stuff set up quick and almost ruined my whole project. Think to much hardener came out. What a mess.

Anyway, I picked up a few pieces of nice wood at the store this weekend in preparation for some Becker projects I am planning to do. While I was waiting for the etchent to work on my new laser saber 16, I decided to mod my Gamestalker.

Put some ebony scales with stainless pins and a brass lanyard hole. If any of you have this knife then you know that it is a skeleton tang. I cut a pice of ebony the same thickness and shape of the two inner cutouts and epoxied it in with the pins.

Here's a few pics of what I have so far. Gonna do some more sanding on it but this all I could stand for today. Wanted to get enough done so I could at least use it.

You know, I REALLY like that one too... was making it for myself - had it about halfway done - and then some dude PM's me and says "hey, how about a 100% Mountain knife??" Well it's better off where it will be used, so I ain't complaining. ;)

Looks good from here! Of course I can't be 100% sure without it in hand....

I use it a lot too! It's one of my EDCs... Gets used at least once a week but it usually rides front pocket as my back up EDC.

I was looking to get another SAK. The only requirement is its not overly stuffed with tools/gadets but its not tiny tiny either. Just the basics is what I'm after. What would you all recommend?

Victorinox Alox farmer. I never leave home without one in my pocket. I use everything on it fairly often.

I carry a black camper, its the same just with cellidoor scales.

I also like the mechanic and deluxe tinker but its stuffed :) lol

I like the Tinker. Never found one of the aluminum-scaled ones in a physical store when my defenses were down.
