It's kind of tricky to pull off... some look really silly to me. That's a beautiful example of the style, though. I'm putting together a modded OH just for fun... I may have to consider some leather or rawhide on the handle...

I'm one of those weird cats who has to have all the bills in my wallet organized biggest-to-smallest and facing the right way...

I know they liked to decorate their blades then, no different than we do now, but I wonder if wrapping wet leather around the handle helped to make sure it wouldn't come loose. I know they were pinned, but they didn't have the modern epoxys we have now. Probably not, but it looks cool anywhos. Actually, $185 is very reasonable for that example, imo.

I do the same with the money in my wallet.

It couldn't hurt, especially if using rawhide. Plus I imagine it adds a nice warm, grippy feel to the handle. I will definitely be looking into that technique for some projects.

Guess I'm not that weird after all. OK, I'm weird, but not because of that :D

Off to the SMKW rep show to say hi to Ethan... Pickles? Check. Camera? Check. Pickles? Double-check. :p

I going to safeway for another apple fritter this morning. Damn that one last week was good...

I bank face my wallet as well. Although I have the bills separated. Small bills on the one side, large bills on the other.

Anytime, just let me know

Thanks bud! Ill hit you up ;) this knife isnt going anywhere, so whenever is convieneant for you id send her your way, then you could use your imagination and do whatever you think would look cool. Ill let you have free control over the design, thanks again bud.

Post office sucks. spent 95 bucks in shipping fees today and literally tried to negotiate the price down, i know the post office guy pretty well, he is also Greek so we shoot the $hit whenever we run into each other but he thought it was hilarious. He said that will be $95.15.. And I said how about 50 and a cold beer, he said 95.15, i said 75 and and 2 beers... I paid $95.15, he wasnt budging.

I walked out of there with a funny limp. They had their way with me.

Just ran an errand in the K5 and I checked out the stance again. I'm thinking my tires would look ok with a 2" suspension lift. Also would like to get a safari rack on the roof and get the spare tire and some of the tools up there and out of the back and give me more interior space. Do some bedliner on the floorboards and a front receiver hitch for a removable winch mount. And then ditch the power tailgate window for a manual crank. The power window needs help most of the time and the rear key switch is busted. Rather than fix all that mess I'd rather replace it with a manual setup.

I'm going to have to find myself the base for my hardcore wheeler project just to keep this one from getting out of hand! And then I found out the other day that there are kits to swap the D44 TTB from a fullsize 1/2 ton ford into a ranger. I was wanting to build a prerunner style truck from an '87-91 F150 SCSB but a ranger with the same running gear would be even better! And my '93 sonoma would look better with a 2" drop...

Second day on the road.. almost to Nashville. Raining like crazy from Little Rock to where ever we are now, pulled off for lunch... really wanted try to stop at Smokey Mountain knifeworks to say high to Ethan, but circumstances are forcing us to head straight to Dayton. Beautiful country here, the trees are amazing and so much water.. enjoying the cool weather here too.

tracking a blade shipment from Spain, I see that a notice was left...now I have to wait till TUESDAY to pick it up since Monday is a holiday AAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!

Wife took the kids to the grandparents......

Got a 1 man party going on over here, musics up, smoke in the air, bottles in hand!

good vibes :D

a month wait...not bad, I guess I'm used to it by now. This will be my last sharp steel shipment for a while. I challenged myself to not buy a knife until I drop 25 pounds. 3 pounds down, 22 to go...not in a race, I need to wean myself from my steel buying addiction for a lil bit and play with what I got while reaching my goal (drop 50). When those 25 are done I'm gonna reward myself with an RMD :D

scored six free pallets and some pavers. already setup and arranged four of them in a square pattern giving me a large flat base to start stacking a beehive log pile

also got some odd sized tires to use as splitting corrals and/or "for safety" (of the axe, not me)

and many 2x4s to make an indoor porch wood shelving unit, for already dry ready to burn wood - i won't have to go outside at all to load the fireplace. moo hah hah.

if i get a surplus of dry wood, i can stack that in the basement in some corner. don't really have a wood-shed or anything. yet. may never, if the beehives work out.

No thats not bad, just got one i waited 3 months for, that wasnt bad either. Sounds like a great reward ;)

Im sure ur gunna love it!!

1 good thing about the wait, you can order the knife and have a little time to save up the money. they dont take payment until is ships.
