Damn conscience. I contacted the seller of the Emberlit, to let him know he sent me the Ti one. It is nearly a $40 mistake, after all.

Have a 31" DL myself.

Same here... the DL is one thing, left-handed is another... put 'em together and it gets a bit problematic for my accountant (wife). I'm not too worried about it, it's not like I have a ton of spare time to learn to shoot one anyway :o

Was it a little retailer or was it like Amazon? If it was Amazon, I don't think I would have but good on you mate!

That was my original intent as well, a recurve. Then I thought the compounds were kinda cool. Bought it, and a week later needed money, and had to sell it.

They are definitely cool, I like looking at the compounds.

Its like rifles, I love checking out the hooked up tactical AR rifles with attachments and high powered scopes and all.... But when it came down to it I preferred shooting an old stock SKS.

I have always had decent aim. And i always thought high powered scopes were cheating. Anyone with decent vision can hit the target with the right scope, that doesnt show much skill to me. I was skeet shooting with a 22 long rifle as a kid because i was too small for the shotguns, now that to me shows skill. small fast moving target, small round, little time to react. Takes skill and lots of practice. As I got older, bigger I just got better and never started using the shotgun, it was "cheating" to me at that point.

Shooting a large target with a large round under a high powered scope.... cheating.

Same thing with a bow, throw a site on it and the fun is gone. make it too complicated and the fun is gone. too easy and im not even interested.

Ah... Yeah I would have probably contacted them. I don't get as perturbed by goofs by big companies where I benefit as opposed to the little guys.

I hear that. Try being left-eye-dominant with a stupid-long draw. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of entry-level or used stuff out there for a guy like me :(

I'm right handed and left eye dominant......its annoying. My vision in my right eye isn't very good, so I'd assume thats why my left is the naturally dominant eye. I've really contemplated Lasik on my right eye even if it might not last for forever.

Had my last user pipe for well over a year and there was a small defect causing it to "ooze" when smoked. Was an 70-80 dollar pipe so not a huge deal but just one of those things. Went to the smoke shop the other day and talked to one of the managers and they said to bring it in to see what could be done. Well last night I finally got it in and VIOLA! they decided to trade up for a brand new pipe! Didnt get a rustic this time because I have had bad luck with them which is a shame, but I am pretty happy with the new one... Smokes 10x's better, deep/large bowl, holds a fire, and I think it is pretty to boot. Here it is posing with some older blades of mine and a BK15. Sorry for the over edited pic but its the only way I can make my cell phone pics look halfway tolerable.

Same here. Most things I can do pretty well with either hand, but I fight right-handed and write/draw left-handed. You should see me fire a handgun; I look completely retarded with the pistol in my right hand and my head laid down on my arm so I can sight with my left eye :p That doesn't work with rifles or bows, though.

Same here. It's funny to see right / right shooters try to use my bow, though! A recurve is still in my future, for sure, though. I almost bought one at an estate sale, but after the bow's cost, stringer, and string, I figured I might as well just grab a Sammick, since the one I was looking at wasn't all the great of a setup anyway.

Got a response about the Emberlit:

"We appreciate your honesty, but feel free to keep it. Please refer your friends and family if possible, as we knew that we sent it to you, but decided to let it be, and not seek a replacement."

Win, win. I get to keep it, plus clear my conscience.

Nice pipe fly swatter :) I use to have one with a bowl just like that, longer mouthpiece, more sherlock like, but same wood.

I got me a new pipe as well, well last week i did anyway.

Mine looks a little different though ;) well a lot different really. but its awesome! hard to clog, easy to clean, hard to break, easy to fix. Never had a pipe so perfect, And i have been through my share of em.

I had a buddy that could not shoot for garbage, probably because he just isn't picking it up very well but one day I noticed him trying to hold the gun right-handed and sight with his left eye. Figured that probably isn't helping things at all. At least not with a novice of only passing interest in guns and shooting.

I'm right/right so lucky there but I've always noticed my left (non-dominate) eye had worse vision than my right. And this is confirmed by my annual vision screening for work. Doc told me that's actually pretty common, to have worse vision in your non-dominate eye. I'm 20/20 right, 20/30 left.

Sure you can with rifles; my lefty dad refers to it as "Kentucky windage". I have been shooting compounds and recurves for almost 40 years now, and am hopelessly right handed in most everything; learned to shoot when there weren't left handed bows available. I am more than left eye dominant, I have amblyopia; can't see out of my right eye unless the left one is shut, as long as it's open my brain pretty much ignores the info from the right one (fun for driver's license testing). So I get all sorts of looks at the range because everyone else just learned to shoot whatever hand their dominant eye is, and they keep both eyes open. It works shooting with my bogus eye; I just can't stay focused on the target that long, and have to let down for a few seconds and then try again. I've only gone hunting a few times, and never saw what I was hunting for so I'm not sure how it would work for that. It's still fun shooting - and a scope or a sight doesn't make it that much easier, in some cases more frustrating. Archery is really a form of relaxation; you need to remain calm in order to be consistent, which is really what you're after. OK, I'm done now. Have fun shooting!

Anyone with decent vision can hit the target with the right scope, that doesnt show much skill to me.

this is untrue.
unless maybe you're talking prone or benchrest.
And you say 'anyone with decent vision' like that's most people.

Good deal.

If you just really, really want the stainless one I'll swap you out because I'm a good guy. :D

Im not going to get into an argument, I know a lot of people dont have great vision, and i know a lot of people just cant shoot for crap, but people with any type of shooting coordination paired with the right scope can hit the target. And yes i am mostly talking prone or bench as thats how you qualify.

I dont know much about bows, I dont know very much about knives, But i have been shooting all my life. I have been to plenty of qualifications military and otherwise, and seen plenty of people fail, then seen the same person with a high powered scope hit a playing card from across the field. a scope reduces the skill involved drastically. Take that scope away from that same guy and he hit a 24 out of 40. same distance same qualification with a red dot he hit a 35 out of 40, still not great, especially with a scope. but proves the scope takes less skill. My last qualification I hit 39 out of 40 stock, my best ever. I have the badge.

Foot looks a little better today. Not swollen at all now. Still very red, but not quite the purple it was yesterday. Not wearing my boots for the last few days seems to have helped it.
