Let's see those 2017 BFC Traditional Forum's TC Barlows. Barry and everyone involved, you hit another one outta the park, thanks everyone for another successful Annual Porch project and a beautiful knife.

C'mon folks they're showin' up in mailboxes everywhere how about sharin' your pics here. I love opening the package photo shoots. :)

Here's one of the two I got, the other my daughter bought for my future son in law and is still unopened.

 It's does look knice, I wonder if there's a way to blacken the inside of the stamped letters on the bolsters to give it more contrast, something like a cast iron black would set off the polished bolsters so knicely. :)

Gotta wonder if some cold blueing would work, since they are steel bolsters.

I've got some cold bluing... I won't be using it anymore

I second Willard - my experience with cold blue on knives is a foul-smelling mess that ruins the knife. Selenium stink doesn't go away unless the cold bluing does.

Instead, take a pipette and drop some lemon juice or vinegar or etchant into the letter channels. The letter channels are narrow, so you might need to wipe off the bolsters from overflow, but that should do the trick.

You got two Jack. Why not use one?
I guess I don't understand the collector mentality. As long as you're happy though.:D

I'm no collector, though I understand folks desire to do so. However, with two, unless you're planning to sell one, I agree with Bob - you love your TC Barlows so much, Jack, that I can't help but think of the delight you'd have in carrying and using one.

Jewelers use Liver of Sulphur for creating patina, i.e. the background relief in class rings. There is a gel version.

I don't think that would be possible with this knife. Its funny that you are willing to mod it, but not carry it!:D

pipe dreams my friend pipe dreams. i remember trying to mod the one armed razor into a clip. didnt do as well as id like given the equipment available. as far as i can see, probably trim the kick down a bit and regrind the tip. but a very wise man on here once said all blades become pen blades with enough sharpening. we will see. i may not mod at all.
