As I suspected, it is possible, it only takes money.

I'm liking this build so far, good choices... depending on what is chosen for the handle material, I'd like to get in on it. Does it normally go to the end, then we find out the price? Then do orders? or what?
A price will be announced after the polling is finished. You'll have that info before you commit.sorry for being a noob, but I'd really like to be informed... do I need to commit before the final price is determined? Or how does this work?
I realize that a lot of things impact price, but do you have a likely RANGE for pricing on the Buck 301 2018 Trad Forum knife? Not asking for exact numbers, I would just like to get an idea of what is likely to develop. It affects how interested I become basically. I have little knowledge of Buck slippies.
Well, we know that we are trying to keep the price at or under $100 dollars. We had a mockup made with Burlap Micarta and CPM-154 that was going to be around $80 if I remember correctly. So that's sort of a baseline. The extra money will be used up when we get to handle material.
Thank you. I tend to loose track of where we are and yes, I knew the $100 was sort of a cap figure. This will sound stupid, but I didn't even know what a basic 301 sells for. To be honest about it, I have had zero interest in buying a buck slip joint. (I own more slip joints than I will ever use in my lifetime.) The forum knife is a different beast. I have resisted voting in the polls so far simply because I have been generally comfortable with the voting trends overall. I'm not hard to please. Unless it is a 101, 110, 112, and 113 ... and maybe the Chairman series 301?It's not a 'real' Buck unless it is nickel silver. 300
Heck yeah it's a good deal, because it's part of the bladeforum tradition that the dealer (skblades) cannot make a profit on the knife, but rather, only cover their costs (great, I'm talking in 3rd person...). So the knife that gets made here would not sell on the regular market for the deal that everyone gets here. It's a special thing to be a part of for sure.burlap micarta and cpm-154 for around 80? That is a good deal, I'd jump in on thatGood textured micarta is hard to improve upon, I hope the colour choice works out. I'll admit, I'm a big fan of desert ironwood - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olneya
22-rimfire The 301's I can find for sell atm all are ~$50 but yeah I am hoping for ~$80 myself on the final price but if the final finishings put it closer to $100 oh well.
skblades When do you expect these will be available and when will money be collected in relation to that and/or voting?
Well I tried to consult my crystal ball on that, but someone threw a forum thread full of "what if's" at it and cracked it!All kidding aside, I'm thinking we'll be able to wrap up polling (fingers crossed) around the end of May....ish. From there I need to get Buck to give me a price, at which time we'll run a pre-order period. I'm not entirely sure how long that will last. Maybe 10 days? Then I need Buck to get the project rolling through the factory. Probably an 8 week delivery from the factory, pushing delivery at the soonest to August. That's in a perfect world. I'd image more realistically, the polling and final decision will roll into June, pushing the timeline out into end of August, possibly even September. I'll do my best to keep us rolling and not get bogged down.
