Hmmm... I was in favor of the same end version, but I can see a possibility of issues with accessing the nicks on the same side.

I really like that (iron?)wood. Will going with two blades rather than three allow enough in the budget to get covers in something other than Micarta? :)

With those tangs rubbing on the same end Jack, you may have to expect underwhelming W&T...

What's the scales on the opposite end knife?

Thanks, Will

I think this sells me completely on the two blade opposite end.

The same end configuration is a little nicer looking (in the well) than I anticipated, but I do think there's a bit too much space for my liking.

And at roughly 15% thinner than the standard three blade, either of these look like a lean mean cutting machine.

Thank you very much skblades skblades and Buck for being so accommodating!

You already have budget for something over Micarta even with the 3 blade version :)

Hopefully everyone stops pinching pennies by removing blades then ;) The opposite end is nice, but I'd really like to turn a Spey into a pen on the regular configuration :).

I'm thinking about turning it into a small clip blade like on a carpenter's whittler!

Thanks, skblades!

Thank you and Buck for the samples! skblades skblades could you copy and paste the photos in the 1st post so that it doesn't get buried?

If you need some photos of a 3 blade for comparison, here are a couple.
