I was good and waited until the 4th and we had power. Got a nice big box from Chris at KFU. My wife stopped making fun of the whole swap concept when it came time to open the box. She and I were not disappointed!

A nice SAK
The nicest strop I have ever seen, dual sided, 1 micron and 3 micron.
A nifty Benchmade tool that I've never seen but am VERY excited about.
A waterproof tube for survival goods.
And a Backwoods knife and sheath, the design of which I've never seen. Anyone know what the function it? It's a nice blade with a mosaic pin and sharp as can be, I like the fold over snap sheath, too.

I can't wait for the Christmas swap now. Gnarley, I may have shorted you even WITH the second box because I can see people are taking this $50 as a loose very bottom end suggestion. Hopefully there will be a few items in there that you want.

Anyhow, I am very excited. Of course, I told my wife 'well, Chris makes knives and I have always wanted one of his knives so I hope one is in there" and when it wasn't, I got permission to buy one! Win win win!

Time to pick out a KFU blade...

that looks like a mirrored edge strop, i bet. i actually saw Chris's post (or maybe it was Bill) about it. and, i ordered one. and you are correct...a quality piece.

Opened my box earlier today!! There was a ton of stuff in in and.......nothing breakable, I believe I was tricked into not shaking it.......:p.

Eternalgameplayer, thanks a ton!! I received a couple small molle pouches, one from maxpedition and the other from condor. They contained a bunch of lanyards with skull beads on them, a container for possibly a small fire kit, firesteel and scraper, highlighter, a pen, and an s-biner. I also received a cleaning cloth, a flitz sampler, and some ziplock baggies. Then there was a cool little Muela recurve knife and a Leatherman Wave!! I'll be using everthing in this box for sure. My gf stole a lanyard already and has her eyes on the others too. I've actually been meaning to get another multitool so the Leatherman Wave is perfect. I carry a small Leatherman Juice in my watch pocket, but its not up to some of the bigger tasks I throw at it, so the wave will be going with me in my backpack to work. Its amazing how often a multitool comes in handy.

I'm glad you like it all! The zipplock bags are LOKSAK's they are amazing for keeping things dry! I've even put my touch screen phone in one of the smaller ones and went into a pool before while still able to use the screen while under water. Plus this gives me a chance to poke light fun @ the Premature Openers.

After I have more coffee and shake off the cobwebs in my head, I plan to open my gift from halm!

Here is the link to one of the knives... it is the 154CM one. I loved that little guy but I cannot, for the LIFE of me, get it to take an edge. I've tried everything and failed. So, when you finally do, I bet it will hold it forever.

Got both packages, and LOVE it all!
You were WAY overly-generous!

The gorgeous little custom knife took less than 10 light strokes on each side with the 4" Nicholson Smooth Cut (single cut) File, and about 6 strokes on each side, on the strop....

.....now, as Ankerson would say: It's AIR-BLEEDING SHARP!

I'm thinking you made the larger knife? Nice work!....it's beefyThick, and fits my hand great! Wish my efforts looked like that!

My wife said I got a package in the mail today, but I'm at work. So, tomorrow I'll get to open it and can't wait....

My photography skills suck, so I'm gonna make a list of the fine swag I got from halm:

An Eliot Malvanado tiny knife & two sheaths, lower right side.
A large beefy stainless skinner & sheath.Massive thickness!
Eagle Creek multi-pocket luggage organizer, brown.
Brunton 10 X 25 waterproof binoculars & case.
A complete fishing kit, in an altoids tin.
4 Ranger bands.
A microfiber towel.
A blue REI stuff sack.
2 MRE's.
And a woodland camo ripstop 1-man tent!

He went WAY overboard! and my picture ain't gonna do it justice, but here is is:

If you have any RCR123A's, you can raise that figure to 700 lumens.

Well I took it camping alrighty & it's plenty bright with the standard batts & I can't imagine needing 700 lumens.
I have a SFG2 with a solar force strobing tail switch by my bed & this puts it to shame brightness wise.
I don't have a charger for 123s so I'll stick with the CRs.

I have been slammed @ work + was asked to speak @ the funeral of two friends, yesterday & today, but the good news is: I found the rest of the stuff that was s'posed to be in your package, while looking for my daym dress shoes.
I was afraid WORK was gonna make me late getting your stuff mailed, so I sent the main part.....will get the rest mailed to you, when I work off Weds 11July.

Christmas is the time to splurge anyhoo,so save the missing gear for then.

When I found the rest of your stuff, I went ahead & set aside what I'm giving @ the Christmas Swap....this other stuff is yours.
Appreciate the kind words.
Yesterday the service was for an old friend, since Woodstock days....he simply wore his body out.
The service today is for a friend of my Sons....fine young man, going thru a divorce.
Suicide,by prescription sleeping pill overdose. A waste.
