I wouldn't call them entry level. I have two of them that I got for under $30 each, and I think they're probably one of the best bargains out there for an EDC. The 420HC steel is good to go, they're super light weight, and they're just one of those knives that you don't feel like you have to baby.Entry level but really like carrying and using this Slim Select

Thanks LynnI like the grain, and the color on yours. Mine came through really bland looking, so I ended up dying it darker.

I like how it came out.
Thanks. I got a bottle of Fiebings dark brown leather dye to darken the scales on a Case/Bose Premium Stockman that was way too red for my liking. That turned out okay, so I got this one out, and dyed it too. Thanks Lynn
Looks good after its dye job!!

I cleaned the knives really well with alcohol, then used a cotton ball to apply the dye. The dye comes with an applicator, but I used a cotton ball instead. I applied a couple coats, until I got it as dark as I wanted. Then when it was dry, I buffed it with a rag. I have before & after shots of the Premium Stockman, but I don't want to mess up the Official Buck Picture thread.May I ask if you just rubbed it on or what was the process?

I do, but it was months ago. I sort of remember that it may have been in a thread in the Traditional forum, specifically about dying, but I'm not sure.Thank you. Do you have the before and after posted anywhere on the forum?
I’ll post a Buck picture just to not hijack the thread much.View attachment 2973279

Thank youkyhunt I found some pics to compare in the "Case Tony Bose Collabs pic and discussion" thread over in the Traditional subform. Before pic is on page 80, and after is on 93. Sorry for the extra work, but I don't want to derail this thread.
Nothing to be sorry about carrying one of those. My dad wasn’t wrong choosing one of these either. I just wish I had one! Please forgive the inclusion of a standard nothing fancy 301 from 2014.

Sorry.
I agree. It just isn't as fancy and/or impressive as the majority shown in this thread.Nothing to be sorry about carrying one of those.
