What exactly do I do if I want a sheath to go with it ?

Haven't got the time to flip through 16 pages of posts. Maybe put the answer in a seperate thread ?

It's been answered several times already...but hey, what the heck, why not again? :p

Sheaths will be available for purchase when the knives are finished. In other words, I will have them in stock already before it's time to ship. :thumbup:

I know there have been a few hang-ups along the way, but does it usually take 9 months (I originally placed my order in July and am using 4-6 week completion time frame mentioned above) for a knife like this? This is the first time that I've ordered a custom knife and I'm just curious if this is normal. Thanks.
 
Waiting is half the fun...though if you really need a Koster bad take a look at Steel Addiction and you can have one in two days.

It's better than waiting YEARS for a Randall....
 
...any idea on the price for a sheath ?

When they are available at finish of the blades, do we simply send you the money for the sheath via paypal and you'll send it along with the balde or... ?

Will these sheaths include a loop for a firesteel ? Kydex or leather sheath ?
 
The wait has been awful on this one....for me too, guys.

The biggest hang-up was waiting for the steel. I was told it would be available, but when I ordered it...it was backordered. Only Crucible makes it....so I had to wait. It will be worth it.

And yes, sure beats the pants off of some runs I've seen with others...:eek:


By comparison:

The first Bushcraft Production Run I did....I started in October and every knife was out the door by the end of January.

That's more typical.

If you look at how much work is being done.....this knife *should* take twice as long as the Bushcraft knife.

But I had originally scheduled it to run quicker....go figure. :foot:



Anyway, it'll get done when it gets done. Demand is so high on this right now....I got no problem if anyone wants to cancel or get a refund.


Thanks for the help on the sheath questions. Yes, JRE will have 2 sheaths to choose from (and, I'm sure, will be willing to make others!)

A Ray Mears/Alan Wood knife is a 6 year wait. 9 months is nothing and you get far superior knife.



And Dan, If there is an extra for some reason, I'll take it.

The BushMasters are still at the CNC shop. As soon as I get them I PROMISE I will update this thread. :D


Believe me, guys....I desperately want these to get done sooner...but I'm not going to call the CNC guys and make them rush the job....:eek:
