Official RSVP for CPK shindig

Hi Marc, would you send me a DM, if you have a minute. I tried sending one to you, and couldn’t.

Thank you. Mike

Pretty sure he can't send a DM. He's barely a member. He's really old and he doesn't know how things work. Somebody should help him set up his account and make sure that he's eating well and his toenails are trimmed.

I ran a few numbers for folks thinking about what caliber to use for the 20 yard bottle cap shoot.
Nathan says he will mock you if you use a 22 LR. You would also be at a disadvantage.
The collisional cross section (total area that constitutes a hit) is the squared sum of the two radii (bottle cap and bullet), times pi.
Considering a standard 26mm bottle cap some cross sections are:
22 LR - 1.23 square inches
357 mag - 1.50 square inches
10 mm - 1.59 square inches

700 Nitro Express - 2.33 square inches...

If you all use a 700 Nitro Express to shoot bottlecaps, you HAVE to film it! That is guaranteed to go viral for one reason or another!! 😆

Plus I want to see it! 🙂

If somebody wants to bring a 22 to demonstrate proficiency, I would be fine with that. I think we need to have a qualification round before we back up into the shop and start lobbing big bullets towards a relatively small backstop.
