Well this sucks, the stripper got under the paint, so I went ahead and took off everything, and I was really poking forward to seeing how it would turn out :(
Anyways here's how it looks now

Still looks good, she is just a regular stripper now :D

I had the same thing happen with a BK11, i used acetone on the blade, and it got under the coating on the handle so i had to strip the entire thing. Thats why i used a razor blade on the 14. The razor was more work.. But it worked... Sanding block was even MORE work, but worked excellently.

I tried using an exacto first but just didn't cut it, also every Becker I've stripped has I light stone wash on it, is they just part of the manufacturing process or does kabar put it there on purpose

big pod of dolphin playing around this ship this morning. very cool. Man, can they jump!
And without even any trainers....how do they learn that on their own?

This cracked me up... Special Forums Operation Delta!

I prolly should have one of those . Still funny tho!

I'm trying to decide whether or not to strip my machax.... Decisions, decisions

So I tagged this to quote before I saw the rest of the story....may I suggest that now that you've got it totally naked, why not give it a nose & <3 job?
I'm not so great at being happy with the mods I do, as I can always see every detail that I effed up or missed.....but I'm happy with this one:

I say go for it.

I just dressed up for a little girl's tea party, including sports coat, bowtie, wingtips, the works.
The things we do for our children...

Spike, it looks good so far! I'm working on stripping my new Machax too.... One branch at a time.

GSOM- did you use hand files or Power tools of some sort?
I used my Craftsman 2x42; used the disc with the table to do most of it.....swedges are a little "multi-faceted", but I'm still happy with the way it turned out. That one will be the next to get some custom wood grafted on, the handles on the 4 just feel right to me, so I might even make them permanent....

Dammit Mike...... Your making me want a 4 again LMAO...... that looks GREAT brother.
Sorry. But thanks for the opportunity...if I hadn't also wanted to help you out, I might not own a 4 yet. I wasn't that impressed with it when I first held one....I don't think I musta been holding it right, cause it's fast become my favorite "woods bumming" knife (trailbum quote). Like a lot of people, I thought it was bigger than it actually is. Turns out, it is exactly the right size. Uncle E is a genius.

I think I know what I'm getting for Christmas from my b-i-l. My sister called my mother and asked her what the "woodpecker knife" was that I had told my b-i-l about over the 4th weekend, when I was showing him some of my knives out in the shop.

Naturally, my mom, who doesn't really care about my knives until she needs one, didn't have a clue as to what my sister was talking about, so she came and asked me "what's a woodpecker knife" and why do you need one?

Looking completely confused (because I was), I asked "Huh???" After grilling my mom, I called my sister back and asked her what she was talking about. She said that my b-i-l couldn't remember which "big woodpecker knife" I didn't have yet.

After getting these details, I realized she was talking about the big "Becker knife" I didn't have yet, the BK-4 Machax.

She said, "Well, don't buy one."
