Just been hanging out enjoying some relaxing time. Wife and kids got home around midnight so i had a good full day to myself....

So i did what any stay at home father does when he gets a free day..... I got intoxicated and walked around my house butt naked playing ninja with a 20" knife... DUH :D

Sounds nice! I'm sitting here at work, in the middle of the hospital, in a recliner, watching Red vs Blue on netflix, trying to decide tomorrow (or maybe ACTUALLY tomorrow ((sunday))) do I want to make Kebobs, burgers, or steak... All three sound really good.

Oh and I was noticing with the Benton's bacon it tends to curl on the edges and get "hot spots" that get overcooked. So I got a cast iron bacon press to keep it flat... WHOOT!

If there is ANYTHING at all measuring 20" coming from either of the locations you mentioned this would be a crime scene LOL at the very least id be rushed to the ER :D

I had a really good pan pizza today from Dominoes. Had a coupon, and it was that or fried chicken... Normally fried chicken wins out, but i felt like a pizza today. Pepperoni and jalapenos.. Yumm. Then i dip my pizza in hot sauce... Delicious.

A good steak sounds wonderful.... I still think Jonny may have won the all time best looking steaks on the snark thread that day he posted those juicy looking ribeyes on the grill.... I think it was Jonny... Im still a bit lit LOL
 
So many people have posted up pictures of steaks there is no telling anymore LOL! I dunno. Steak does sound really good. However I am probably going to hold off on that till the weekend of the 18th, and go to Springfield with a beef loin. Then we can cut our own steaks off of it. That is really the most AMAZING way to do it, lemme tell you what?! Last time my brother and I had 2.25" thick steaks, that were absolutely amazing! Cooked off to a perfect medium rare which is easy to do with a steak that thick!

You have to treat those situations like you do a hurricane warning.... Tie, tape, or nail down everything you wanna keep ;) Otherwise you might lose it :D

In this situation i suggest wound tape... Really anything other than nails will be good LMAO

I don't need anything else, like I showed in Biscuit's thread I can get a blade shaving sharp with a mirror finish, just I want to step it up just a bit more... I might get the stones and the WS:KO with attachments. I have never been able to do a convex edge I don't know why all I end up doing is making a butter knife. So I might be able to finally make a convex edge as well!
 
I'da just put some drawers on rather than tapin' it down. That tape probably doesn't come off too comfortably...

Id get a cheep belt sander, and the diamond stones. What strops are you looking at? the kangaroo stuff from KME? I wouldn't, I played with a KME at the Gathering, and if those stones were strops, I'd have them completely wasted in three or four sharpenings. Much better to get a real strop me thinks. Also, if you can't freehand, why get the stones? I think you'd want to learn how to freehand, and then get the expensive stones.

Read the description, and noted things like: "Not intended for grinding or creating primary bevels into steel blade blanks." I'd say that rules it out as being better than a KMG or similar. Oh, I know it isn't a replacement for an ACTUAL grinder, I was saying it's a cheaper "introductory" version. And that is why I'd get the "tool grinder" attachment as well. It's $50 and it CAN be used creating primary bevels. When I was talking to Ken Onion he was saying he made it for guys like me. (He didn't specify "like me" but what he described as a person wanting, is what I wanted) which is why I think it would be ok. I thought about the 2x42 craftsman, but the WS:KO has a variable speed the craftsman doesn't, also the WS:KO has the 1° increments where the Craftsman is only vertical with some play in the slack. Also I have a 1x30 HF already. (I liberated it from my brother when he turned his BK-14 into a screwdriver)

Yeah the kangaroo from KME. I already have a KME, I also already have A strop from Flexxx, however I have that loaded with black and green compound, those are the much finer abrasion so they would be after the flexxx strop. The stones I was looking at were also for the KME.

I know how to freehand. Because of a medicine cocktail I was on for a couple years my hands are no longer steady. They tend to shake rather dramatically especially if I am doing something where I am focused. So I'm pretty much stuck with using a guided system, and the KME is one of the best I've found, for me.
