Oh Say Can You Snark...

Man, lots of people may or may not have knifes coming...nice.

Well, due to all of you Emberlit fanboys around here (that means you Dubz) I've been seriously jonesing for a small wood stove. However, since I'm a cheapa-, er, I mean, since I like tinkering around and building my own stuff, I decided to give it a shot. Spend last night perusing the internet for ideas and plans. A supplier gave me a scrap piece of 22ga. stainless for free. Spent this evening cutting it out with a pair of tin snips and dozen Dremel cut-off wheels:

It looks pretty rough; but it's more of a "see if I like it" kind of build. I still have to sand all the sharp edges off of it, and maybe make a screen or something to lie on top so my glacier cup can sit properly. I'll probably end up buying an emberlit anyways if I like using one enough. I think I'll head to the river tomorrow morning for some fishing and give it burn test.

I know what thats all about, i have had to sell several lately that i really didnt wanna sell... But it was necessary.

It is what it is!! Good luck with your sales bud!!

I was thinking of thinning the heard. Use the money for my cabin, haha. I was thinking of other things I could sell as well.

Nice work! I have a page bookmarked somewhere, with Emberlit like plans. See if I can find it.

Internets been out for a few days. Not only did the recent storms knock out our internet, but the brand new modem they sent us doesn't work.

Time to catch up on the snark...

Yep, that cabin is worth it if you ask me LOL!! And that somewhere you can use knives a lot, so the ones you keep you could enjoy more in a place that belongs to you.

Kind of how im thinking, right now to use my knives i have to travel 1-2 hours and pay to camp on land thats not mine... Id much more prefer to be able to just walk outside on land i own and enjoy my blades.

That's the way I look at it too. Have my own woods to go play in. I'm wanting to pay this off as fast as I can. Should be able to in just a few years.

I may or may not have a Delica 4 on the way. And, in about a month I may or may not have some of that sexiness from Daizee coming my way....f yeah!!

Warrior, if you ever wanted to get rid if that large 13 proto.....I'll gladly contribute to your cabin fund. ;)

I may or may not have a THK Sidekick on the way.

I may or may not have broke another knife.

I may or may not have cut myself again.

You may or may not have to wait a few months... but I will definitely set one aside for you out of the next batch.

That's cool as the other side of the pillow

Just scored a bushcrafter by James Terrio on the exchange. Super pumped!

Cool! It's still covered under my warranty if it ever needs repair, sharpening or a fluff & buff :)

As I recall you raised some money to get your wife's car fixed without dipping into savings? I think that's smart. There will be more knives to buy when you get around to it

In other news... not to brag, but one of the testers in my kitchen passaround posted that he wants one and "I plan on using the hell out of it and passing it down when I have children". I'm pretty honored and humbled by that.

OK... yeah I was bragging. Quick, someone snark me before my head swells up too big to get through the door! :D

HA! My thirteen year old just electrocuted a squirrel on my dad's bird feeder with the remote control. They let go of the feeder pretty fast when you hit the button.
