Ok, It looks like Ken Lunde got the first Sar-4 Le and I would suspect there will be dozens upon dozens delivered tomorrow. Please post your thoughts and pictures here if possible.

too cool! i got my sar-4 yesterday. to me it feels like a cross between a BA and a ASH. pretty awesome and i see use as a pack knife or a great belt knife for day tripping. with the shape of this blade it looks like it will make a great hunting knife for the larger deer/elk sized critters. should baton like a dream and take 3" logs easily.
stay tuned for more later.

Mine mailed out today, but I will let you know!

(I think that's what I get for bitching about the cost of shipping!) :foot:

Alright thats enough. I am buying one on the exchange and having a sheath made for it, (maybe with a small survival pouch in the front) and its going to be my hunting/fishing/camping/backpacking well you get the idea, all around knife.

Looking forward to getting number 27, I plan on beating her good...
Batoning, prying, wedgeing, jacking up my truck and all around abusing her when she gets here.
I'll post pictures...

there won't be any on the exchange, they are so cool nobody will sell one!

this is the knife your mother told you about!!

If any do show up I'm going to grab another. I'm already wishing I had picked up two SAR4's. Loving it more and more with every pic posted

ok, now i think the handle feels like a cross between the old badger and the ergo series which i liked a lot. there will be no way this handle design can bite you. very well done, kudos to jerry!

The SAR 4 looks more like an open folder than any Busse I've seen. Nice blade. I hope they last long enough for me to decide to pick one up.

Mine is still ~5000 miles west of me, can't wait to comply with your request.

Next mission: descent packable sheath for said knife.

So I should wear a condom while using it????

Mine won't be here until Sat, likely. :( Maybe Monday if signature is require. :( :(

This knife does have a great Blade design! It would make a great hunting knife for larger game, or a great all around knife.

Are all of these Linen slabed? Your pic looks kinda like canvas to me, and Lunde's looks like Linen(best Tiger I've ever seen!).
Or is it his pic skills showing the detail beter than yours? Skunk, if it wasn't for Lunde you would have the best pics around, so I'm not dissing your pics:p

mfaster7, you wrote:

I think you may be onto something here. In terms of the blade contour and handle shape, and overall size, we may be looking at what could be construed as a fixed-blade prototype of the Busse Combat folder.

I wonder if the need for a talon hole makes the Busse folder a shoe-in for a flipper?

Oh come on now, somebody's mail person had to have shown up by now fur Christ's sake
