Ok all you EDC folks

That is very cool, I like that ivory notebook a lot, kinda like a very old school dry erase board.

Thanks Jeff. Next time my wife tells me I have way too much stuff on my keychain & it is going to pull the ignition switch out of our Jeep, I will be sure and show her this picture . . . :)
Very interesting array of items, all functional for that time period though.
Be safe.
p.s.: Wonder though how in the world he carried all of those . . . .

My guess would be in the travel desk on the right.

Maybe if I show this link to the wife she'll shut her trap about all the crap in my pant/vest pockets.

Edit: Just1mor beat me to the bitchy wife comment :)

Yep, just say "men like me is who built this country" and prove it to her with the photo.

What, no Glock? :D

That's pretty cool. Didn't men of the period often carry a haversack or other type of bag since tactical pants weren't cool yet?

Really makes you wonder how we ever became a country without tactical pants, doesn't it? I wonder if all cool operators shaved their heads back then and had a goatee?

Sorry TXPP, I love my wife trust me, but if I hear one more comment about the ignition pulling out because of the "stuff" on the keychain, all bets are off . . .
Be safe.

I can buy most of that, but a Telescope of that size with a brass chassis would be too much for a pants pocket. They did wear trousers with deep pockets, a vest (wasitcoat), and usually a jacket. I'm bettin' 'ol TJ was runnin' a courier's sachel, back in his day. Just like our modern day Operators, he carried what was important for him to do the job.

El Jefe, did you see? I used the word runnin'. Looks like good 'ol TACTICAL U, is back in session:D:foot:

The operators back then were splitting wood and planting potatoes until they decided they needed to grab their plain jane rifle and start kicking ass. Basically a complete 180 from what we see today.

Real men back in those days.

Moose, you make me proud sometimes.

TJ be runnin' all de cool guy shit.

Wondering if they were using a knife to baton that split wood to pieces or using an axe? Just sayin...

I think TJ also carried a baton with him that doubled as a billy club. Probably rotted over time though, that's why it didn't make the display case.

Probably right because you know all those hillbillys and farmers were using their big knives to split firewood. Hell, they would have all frozen to death and the art of firemaking would be lost forever if they didn't baton!

Don't think jefferson was the one chopping his own wood. Let's not forget the past.

I about mentioned that in my post but didn't want to take this thread down that road. Plenty of founding fathers had caluses on their own hands.
