Hello Folks,

Since the Contest, it has been brought to our attention by a Kind Forum member that
the Name M.E.U.K as it was concived Doesnt actually Exsist in the English Language as it is Put forth.

SO i need some input to Put this Issue to rest.

So the Question is : what do you the members
of this forum Prefer.

1) Multi Environmental Utility Knives(original layout)

2) Multi-Environment Utility Knives

3) Multiple Environment Utility Knifes

go ahead and state your opinions and why,
and we will change it According to General
Opinion.

Oh by the way we will put everyones name who responds into a hat and draw out two names,

and then these two people will be intitled
to send us any Knife they OWN. (Swords Excluded) and can choose either a KYDEX or a
Consealex Sheath to be made for there Knife.
FOR FREE EVEN!!!!! 8-)

it only takes us about 2 days to get the sheath done once we recive it .( We are fast)
8-)

So let us Know!!

In the Day of being " Politically correct"
it may be best to start out buisness life
atleast with the Right Name!!

Thanks Again,

M.E.U.K & Company

1) Multi Environmental Utility Knives(original layout)

Nope..... Marketing rule of thumb. Enviromental makes you sound like you are with green peace or something. Knives + Enviromental = BS

2) Multi-Environment Utility Knives
This is the best of the bunch.

3) Multiple Environment Utility Knifes
Bad english = No Sales

Knifes?

I don't think you meant to type 'knifes.'

Multiple Environment Utility Knives

That's the one you want.

'Multi-' is fine, but I think a brand name without a hyphen has more punch.

2) Multi-Environment Utility Knives

As others have said, #2 because it's proper English.

Yep,
#2 is the correct format.
Gets the point across and
Sounds pretty good too.

Multi-Environment Utility Knives
It sounds better, has a solid ring to it along with giving the purchaser it can be used in mutiple environments without undo stress.

Multi isn't a stand-alone word in English. Your dictionary probably listed it as a prefix, or as a combining form. Furthermore, when combined, it is only hyphenated when the word it's being combined with starts with an i.

Therefore, keeping your acronym, M.E.U.K. should stand for Multiple Environment Utility Knives. However, I think you can take some license, and make it MultiEnvironment Utility Knives. You may want to drop the periods and make the name MEUK.

BTW, it doesn't have anything to do with "Political Correctness." We're talking good, old-fashioned, correctness correctness.

TooAPoint,

Mike has already poked around it but I would think that there are better ways of conveying the "multi-environment" concept. The word environment has picked up too many negative nuances from the politically correct, the left leaning, and the tree huggers. It evokes images of Green Peace, Global Warming, and (God Forbid) Al Gore

!

In recent times I think the AWCKs knife name communicated the concept best (All Weather Combat Knife). But that was tactically oriented. You want utility. Mmmmm Are you open to dropping the M.E. portion for something else???? In addition to the military, astronomy and science fiction have terms that describe climactic or global "conditions" that you might find suitable to convey the notion that your Talonite(r) blades can take it all

Hey, how about MultiElemental Utility Knives? Kind of a play on the multiple elements (cobalt and chromium) in the Talonite, and the classic elementals Earth, Water, Air, and Fire.

I'll tell you what, there's nothing wrong with environmental. Especially if you want an environment to hunt and fish in. And be able to eat what you hunt and fish. Down here in South Florida the officials recommend that we don't eat more than 1 bass per week or so because of mercury contamination. No worrys mate?
