OK GUYS we need some INPUT!!!!!!!! M.E.U.K & Company

Thanks Ewok. I needed your furry butt right about now. I was slashing air... hyperventilating... Whatever happened to the "population bomb"? Was it defused? I think not. We definitely need to learn how to live with our resources. vent, vent, vent, vent, vent, vent, vent, vvent, vent, vent, vent, vent, vent, vent
Yeah, I know, political forum. FTW?

Heh, heh, heh. My mantra is, triple the gasoline tax! I can't believe people are still talking about more free-ways(high-ways)!

But, anyway, we're here to talk about marketing knives. I think (and hope) that it's possible to sell something like MultiElemental Utility Knives, without denigrating the environmentally aware. With Talonite, we're talking about knives that can swim with the dolphins, and never rust. It takes Earth, Water, Air, and Fire to make a Talonite knife.

Now, specifically, I would be wary of associating with Green Peace, Earth First!, etc. However, if MEUK were to donate a small percentage of every sale to The Nature Conservancy, that would be a good thing.

Of the three, number 2 is your best choice.

Spyderco Starmate winner! Thanks Sal Glesser!!!

The 2nd is the best on the list. But it just isn't very slick.

How about

All Environment Utility Knives
Total Environment Utility Knives

If you want to be really off-beat, how about

Universal Utility Knives (U2 Knives)

Or if you want to keep the acronym, I still like Millwood Elite Utility Knives

I like #3...

I'll take Door er choice number 2.

Multi-Environment Utility Knives. I'm sure www.m-euk.com is also available OR with the hyphenation you could just use www.muk.com!

Personally, I'd find another name. No offense, but it just doesn't bite me!

In the final analysis, a rose by any other name ...

I would go with #2 over #3 because multi rolls off the tongue better than multiple.

Number two sounds the most proper. It appears everyone else agrees. Good luck!

I like number 3 however, I think number 2 is the correct one. Yup, number 2.
Thanks for asking.

I have to agree with Ewok. "Multi" is not a word in the english or any other language. It's a prefix. If you want to be grammatically correct, you should use a word. Multiple, manifold, and multifarious would all do. If you do use "multi" in the acronym, there is no hard and fast rule as to whether you should use a hyphen. Not even Fowler's takes a firm position in that regard. Accordingly, #3 is the most correct from a grammatical point of view.
From a business point of view, who cares about the grammatical point of view?
Like most everybody else, I like the sound of #2, but I hate how it looks. The hyphen looks bad and creates other problems: do you hyphenate the acronym[M-E.U.K.]? If multi-environment is one word[actually, it isn't a word previously known to the english language], shouldn't the acronym be "M.U.K." I trust you don't want that one.
Why not use #2 without the hyphen? The grammer could be part of your marketing if and when you want. Something like, "Our grammer may be weak, but our knives are strong".Or, "You can doubt our grammer;but, you can't doubt our knives". You get the idea. A built in attention getter. It didn't seem to hurt Winstons: "Winstons taste good like [as] a cigarette should".
That's my 2 cents.

What? No "Magical Egyptian Utility Knives"?

Of the 3, I'd have to go with #3 as my favorite.

Sincerely,
Adam
