Ok, what's your favorite BKT Model and Why?

That's almost impossible to say.

I like and own pretty much all the Beckers, but I do have some I would keep above the rest.

Right now I would say my ''favorite'' is the BK17. I loved it the second I saw proto pics, waited for it, and the second I got it in my paw I knew I had found my hard-use ''belt knife'' for life.

The others I would keep (in no particular order)

9- just too good not to have.

7- Likely my #2 fave

2- Like Moose said, it's a great knife that is practically bombproof. Just comforting to own one. Kinda like ''knife insurance''

14- Not much more I can say, I think everyone knows how much I love the Esky....just a damn tough blade and so handy.

10- Great size/weight to power ratio, I personally prefer the 12 or 7 to it...but sometimes it's nice to have a good blade in a shorter package.

A Becker I really like just from the short time I got to use one is the BK6. If I had one of my own it would make my short list of Faves. As would the 12.

If I could only have 3, I would take the 17, 7 and 14. Although I might swap the 7 for the 9. I have been in a love triangle with the 7 and 9 ever since I got the 7....I just don't know which one to grab.

Right now my favorite is the BK5, but I have a feeling when my BK15 shows up at the door the 5 will take a back seat to it, and next on my list is going to be a bk4.

The one I've been loving the most lately is the 15...or the 9. Yeah, they're both incredible.

I took the 9 with me on a couple of camsite-camping trips and the only reason the axe got used was because there were some young guys with something to prove. The actual work of splitting down wood for kindling and fire logs was done by the 9.

The 15 is my companion, though. I cook a lot, process fish and game, and it does those tasks very well. I've not used it to baton, but I'm sure it could do enough to split something for kindling, a trap, or a tool. If you wanted to go ultralight, I'd probably carry just the 15 and leave the folder at home, too!

#1 is my BK15 since it gets used the most. #2 is my BK9... well, just because it is so damn fun to play with! Does not see as much weekend use but it gives me an excuse to go out and chop stuff up.

BK9 all the way, but a close second is the Machax. I think the 9 just because of it's versatility. It's really light for a big knife so I can tote that thing all day.

Mine is probably the 9. I love the 10 and the 16 as well, but I just love big knives, and it's hard to say no to the king. To be fair, I have not tried the 5, 15, or 17, or the RBK. I like the looks of all of them, but I can't say when I'm going to end up buying them.

The BK2 when I got that knife all I could say is wow and it led the way for many more.

I'm getting more and more fond of the 15. Sounds like it's made for a trip like you're planning.

I'm thinkin the BK2..There's nothing it can't do. From dressing out a deer to batoning to making feather sticks. It's a monster with finess.
Cheers

17 and 14 for me. The 14 is probably my most used knife, and with the tommy scales on it fits my bear claws perfect. The 17 is still stock, but those stock handles are a perfect fit. No hot spots, and clip points are my fav. It replaced the esee 4 on my pack/murse since the first day I received it. I'm constantly trying to find uses for it in everyday life, but the 14 always gets there first. My .2. :)

Oh and my 14 loves to ride b#*%h on my bike:

Mine is the 14. It's small enough that I can always have it with me. And despite its small size, it can take a beating. I have used it in ways that would have destroyed a folder. In fact, because of the BK-14, I no longer bother to carry a folder. I've batoned the 14 more than any other knife I own and it has taken it. It has performed as well cleaning dove, quail, coons, turkey, and deer as it has at bushcrafting tasks. The addition of the zytel scales transform the Eskabar from a necker to a small bushcrafter, and are as comfortable in my hands as the tweener handles.

A close second is the BK-9.

I gotta say my Seven. It's my first (and only) large Becker knife. I've had it out more lately, and am liking my "first choice". It's got enough mass to swing around (for those pesky branches that hang into my lawn-mowing path), enough finesse for fine cutting (IE. trimming my nails), and enough of a look to make people NOT ask me about it.

I never carry only 1 knife. But if I had to choose, my BK9.

I like big knives and this one is real tough. Its the one I enjoy using the most. Its very capable of doing just about any big job I would ever need and will surprise you how many small jobs it can manage to do as well. It would also be a pretty effective defensive tool if I was ever had to.

Can`t really say for sure yet, the 11 is with me at construction work everyday, my 9 is with me for all trips in the woods....
But they are the only ones I have for now, we`ll see in a week or so, because then my 7 and 17 is comming in,,,,,
Can`t wait for those beauties to be delivered...

So many people are still ridin' the infatuation high of the tweeners but when the start to come down they will realize the BK9 is still and will always be the Boss Hog.:D

Anybody out there gonna vote for the BK12(Becker/Ritter Perseverance)??? I have yet to see one in person but when I do I plan to buy it:D

I'd say that my favorite Becker at the moment is my Machax. I won it a couple months ago in one of Moose's contest. I have since convexed it to improve the performance some. I can honestly say that I would trust my life to it.

Thanks again Moose
