Ok, what's your favorite BKT Model and Why?

The 2. Show me another knife that cut a lawn mower into pieces with as much class as the 2, and...it'll take a backseat to the 2 anyway.

BK2.

I really like alot of Ethans knives, 2,4,5,9,11,14,15,16.
Lately I've been using the BK4, 5, 16 alot.
My son loves his Bk15 and my Machax.

My favorite model is the 7 series, in particular the Kabar BK77 followed up by the Camillus BK77. The overall shape and design makes it a jack of all trades (including activities that get all stabby). The 7 was my Becker cherry... only to be outdone by the S30V, BK77s.

i think the 16 is possibly my favorite . the size is perfect, the ergos are good, it does everything well and it goes everywhere with me.

I couldnt pick a favorite but if I could only have one knife for the rest of my life it would be the 2

Anybody out there gonna vote for the BK12(Becker/Ritter Perseverance)??

I think I can put in a vote for the BK12. I think if more people owned it, it would be on a lot more lists. To me, it basically fixes all of the minor shortcomings (to me) in the BK2. It's a little longer and not quite as thick. I've been keeping it in my EDC backpack lately. I think it's probably a little big for that... but I convexed it, and that damn thing is a beautiful knife. She's already taken a couple of nibbles at my fingers since. I think if I get a kydex sheath for it, she'll really shine.

I've been interested in the 5 and all 3 tweeners lately... but haven't picked one up yet, so I can't really say. I'm extremely interested in the 16. I'm in kind of a go/no go with the 16 at the moment because it seems so similar to my ESEE Laser Strike... On one hand.. I LOVE the Laser Strike.... but on the other hand... I love the Laser Strike... so I don't know where it would fit in.

So hard to make the choice with so many great knives!

Currently it is my BK16.

Although a very close if not equal choice is the BK2.

I carry that little thing everyday!!! It is great!! People can't believe it's such a small awesome thing. I might need another one or two or three someday. :D

No seriously!!

I am not surprised to see the 14 mentioned so many times. It is the most used knife I own, I carry it pretty much anytime I am not in the bed or the shower, and it does so many things well. Tuff as hell too.

I can't wait to try the izula micarta on mine, I have always liked the way it looks, I am curious if I will go back to the zytel after using the micarta.

It is cool to use the big knives, and to own them, and fondle them, imagine the day when we are marooned in Alaska and have to hack our way to civilization with the King....but in all reality, how many of us actually use the Big Boys a fraction of what we use/carry the 14?

If ''Favorite'' is defined by ''most used'' then the 14 will have to be my Favorite I guess.

(I DO use my big knives...I go out of my way to chop or cut with them, but I usually have to LOOk for situations to use 'em...the 14 is something I NEED to use every single day at least 3-4 times)

Going by the same parameters for me it's a BK-11, but I expect the BK-16 or BK-17...when ever I make up my mind...will become a favorite too...

That is a tough call. I just recently acquired a 9 from the Exchange and although I haven't really put it through it's paces yet, it is one hell of a knife. The 14 is one me right now and has been everyday for the past couple of weeks. It sure is one useful and reliable blade. However, I still go back to my first and favorite, the BK2. I feel there is not much (at all) that can't be done with it. I like it so much I just picked up a 2nd one. It's a used Camillus version with serrations. Although I'm not huge on serrations I couldn't pass it up and like the slight variation.

The Remora is great for cleaning small trout. I have cleaned alot of brookies with it. I refer to it as my trout zipper pull.

I realize that will be too small of a knife for camp so my actual vote for this trip is the BK 15. I haven't cleaned and fish with it yet but I am sure it would be great for it.

That's like asking which of my kids I love most.

Tough call between the 9 (no explanation necessary) and the 5 (if you haven't wielded one, do yourself a favour, then you'll understand). Reading through this thread I have a strong feeling my next purchase will be a 14.

Right now I would have to say that the BK-3 Tac Tool is my favorite at the moment. Probably just because I bought one today! The BK-2 was and is still one of my favorites!

Well... I only have two: a 5 and a 9. Out of the two, the 5 wins hands down, just cause it's awesome! I recently convexed the edge of the 9 when I got my belt sander, and I am eager to get it out into the woods and see how she does. The 5 is just such a perfect design, though I am tempted by the 15, and will pick one up some day soon.

I'd say the 14. I'm very partial to it because it's the only Becker I own. But I believe it can handle everything you said you need to do. You wont need to do heavy work, and the 14 can take care of any camping tasks you'd need from fire prep to food prep. The 16 is very nice too, but since you're concerned with the weight, I'd say the 14 without scales could be satisfying to throw into your pocket.
