Okay....finally....some thoughts.

A lot of dealers just copy/paste old information into product descriptions. Hell, even the HTM website isn't updated with new info like the blade thickness being .149.

That's pretty unfortunate. I spent a lot of time looking at dealers specs when I ordered my CRK so that I wound up with S35VN instead of S30v. Opted not to order at one place because of their listing.

You make a good point. There are times I have skipped out on some places due to old info. It hurts business and confuses the customer. The funny thing is, who wouldn't take the extra few minutes to make a $400 sale? Seems silly to me. My local Bass Professional has had the same Mini Griptilian for at least 1.5 years now, the tag below the display is marked 440C blade steel. I checked the knife, it's marked 154cm. I even brought it up to one of the employee's. He said something to the effect of, "most people don't really care." I said something to the effect of, "most people who don't care aren't looking to drop an MSRP of $110 on a Benchmade Mini Griptilian."

Well to be fair, you cannot necessarily fault the business owner. Darrel Ralph never told anyone of the changes he made to the design. His thing is just to evolve his stuff. It's only because I know his older Gunhammers that I even noticed a difference. Then when I talked to him on the phone a while back, he mentioned the pivot screw and body screws were also beefed up.

I would not call the first knife perfect with that late of a lockup, I do not own any HTM DDRs so I am not sure if that late of lockup is fairly common but I know if I see a CRK look like that it tells me shes been a user. I also had a knife (LionSteel SR-1B) come from Knife Center with slight marring on the handle, called to see if they had another and they did but it had slight marring in a different spot on the handle. I just decided to send it back to them for a refund and bought elsewhere.

Not to stir the pot, but I think factory CRK lockup was around 50-75%?

Not stirring at all, but if that is CRK factory then that is not a late lockup in their terms. What I meant is if you have one with the extreme low percentage lockup compared to one with higher percentage lockup from the factory, I would be concerned. If it is not standard out of the factory at lets say 60% but one comes to you at 90%, there may be an issue. If that is all that the factory turns out then it would be a standard in my opinion.
