Old Friends Friday

Thanks Jack. :)

I'm glad you got a chance to carry your Swayback Jack, they're great knives!
Case has me thinking I'm gonna need one of their Swayback Gents in their soon-to-be Sycamore series.:)

That sounds nice, I have a Sycamore in my garden :)

I haven't carried this one since last summer, I don't think. It might even be longer... In the pocket for Old Friends Friday :)

Carried this Gerber LST 400 almost everyday for 20yrs on the job
Used but never abused
Tossed in a drawer in 2006 when I retired, in favor of prettier knives
Old friend? ... yes sir

That looks to be in great condition Jim

I came across this in a drawer earlier. Someone gave it me some years ago, but I've never carried it, or previously photographed it. Think I'll give it a scrub! :D

Received this little Parker Cutlery as a Christmas gift from an old girlfriend’s parents in 1981. At the I had never seen such a small knife, this might be the one that got me liking small knives (of course I like normal and big knives also!:)). It’s actually a really nice knife with very detailed scrimshaw, certainly an old friend.

Not the oldest of friends, but Blackadder doesn't get as much carry as plain old Rose Beast. Old black friend Hochmut Friday:

Cool that you still have that one :)

This one turned up as I was unpacking from my recent move. A Buck Lancer purchased from a Woolco department store around 1979-80, when I was a freshman in high school. I made the leather slip for it while going through my saddlestitching phase around the same time.

Carried it through high school and part of college.

Sorry for the cell phone photo.

That's a very nice one. The Parker and National Blades knives had real hand-done scrimshaw, as far as I can tell. They used to sell them at Pipe World stores in the mall, and I had an old boyfriend who gave me a couple similar little knives. I'll have to pull one out for an Old Friends Friday one of these weeks.

Thank you! They must be old boyfriend/girlfriend knives.:) I’ll be looking for it.
