Old Friends Friday

I hadn't heard of Alien Covenant.

My magic Camillus gift of the snow. At least seven years ago, possibly eight.

It's worth watching I think Jer :) That was a nice find

whatever it's age it's got to be my oldest :)
Great pic of a very cool knife James :)

While they're not really what I had in mind with this thread, these two are definitely Old Friends ;) Truth is, that after deciding to carry my Bagpipe Ebony Big 'Un, I couldn't resist adding the Barlow :D

May not be those you had it mind but it sure worked out to be a most excellent pair! Cool pic too.
Have a relaxing and enjoyable week-end my friend. :)

Brassy lady, as my grandmother would have said! :D
This goes back to the exciting days when phone-ordering was new.

No more wondering if they've even got your order form yet.
I was looking at that knife in the Mora thread the other day Jer, I don't think I've seen a flat-ground Frost's/Mora before  1990's?
It's been too long since this favorite of mine has seen the light of day.
I know, I know, who needs two of the same blades? Not me, but I like Schrade's Turkish clip and prefer the width of two springs so...

...I'm gonna enjoy both blades of this Old Friend, at least for today. :)
Nice Old Friend James :) Those blades are fuller than on mine! :D

I haven't seen another one either. this is quite thin, and I think it was described as an industrial fish-gutting knife and/or a "slimer". I'll do a pic of the spine.

It actually looks about the same thickness as my other Frost'ss. As for date, it's somewhere between just now and way back. 90's is possible.
The pic will have to wait till my new tortilla rack is out of the dishwasher.

They must have been cheap from Tenne, maybe the merger was coming and they were getting rid of knives with soon to be archaiic marks?

Frost's slimer, army, and clipper. They all read about 1.5 mm on my caliper which might not have it's hairline in the right place, but they all come out the same width as near as I can squint.

Very interesting Jer, thanks for the pic  The first time I read about Frost's knives was, I think, in the Knives '87 annual, and the article said they were popular with professional fish processors
