Old Friends Friday

Thanks Jack, I'm very happy with it! :)
As you know, ya get the good ones by locating them in person, flea markets, antique store etc.
Definitely James, it's a lot more satisfying that way, I think, too :)

Wonderful memories!
Thank you for your kind words. My father always carried a pocket knife. He only owned one at a time but also had a few hunting knives that he eventually passed down to me. All of his knives were strictly "tools" and he kept them very sharp. He constantly sharpened them until the main blade was down to a "nib". With either Case or Buck knives that he had owned he would send them back for a new knife. My dad switched from Case to Buck because he felt that Buck used better steel. I'm not sure he was right but he sure like the Buck 303.

My first TC Barlow, a kind gift from Charlie :) It's always been a special knife

A special knife indeed! What a picture show we have today!

Agreed Jack! Handling first to experiancing the heft and action is by far the preferred search method. So much so, I wish it could be my only method. Electronic pics :( never give even the slightest clue to the all important feel of a product.
Look at the character on that beauty!
She's a character alright. :) Warm !!
Classy classic! Sweet!!

I know what you mean James, so many old knives sold online seem to be described inaccurately. European residents aren't allowed to purchase knives from the big auction site, which curtails my spending there! 🙄😁

Very true, and something posters wanting exact dating info for their online purchases, or grandfather's old slipjoint, often fail to appreciate 👍

"Inaccuracy" seems to be growing worse Jack. To the point, that not being allowed access to certain on-line sites is probably a good thing. So much more fun supporting a couple of quality dealers I have within driving distance anyway.
Have a wonderful weekend.
