I'll also chime in with belated birthday greetings, sir! :thumbup::thumbup:
I read something you posted yesterday about 2 celebrations, and I figured out that one was probably Easter, but I didn't have enough gray cells to infer that a birthday might be a natural second celebration! :(:confused::o
I hope you had a day as wonderful as your photos! :D:D

Thank you for the birthday wishes everyone !! :eek::eek::thumbup::thumbup::D

It was a great birthday. My friends and family surprised me with a birthday party and dinner at the little diner where I eat each weekend, near my fishing marina. :eek::o

I knew I was in trouble when I spotted my sister's vehicle parked out front, as I was walking in and preparing to talk some round ball with my friends. :o

68 ??!!!! - NOT !!!! :grumpy::grumpy::D

38 ??!!!!!!!!!!!!! - I wish !!! I could give up pocket knives and chase the gals around !!! :D

I will add an updated pic of the Primble cabinet tonight or tomorrow - I added three more knives to it and it is getting crowded now - albeit a good crowded. :thumbup::D:D

I have added three knives to the display and wanted to show you the updated cabinet. Glass is removed to prevent reflections.

Your knife display cases are simply incredible, Primble!! :thumbup::thumbup::eek::thumbup::thumbup:
As I wrote (in a long-winded way :o) recently in response to the updated photo in your Boker display thread, you are a home run hitting Hall of Famer of knife collecting! It's so cool to see the fruits of your labors! :D:D

Primble....HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! sorry I missed thee day but glad to get in on the belated end of the wish.

^ +1 on the belated happy birthday, Primble. About your display, what is the back like, is it some large magnetic sheet, or individual magnets, or ?? Might be kind of fun to make my own, but I'm not sure about the magnet part. REALLY looks nice, btw.

Thank you Paul and Brad - very much appreciated. Brad, the slide in board is a sheet of steel with a print glued to the surface. The super magnets are small discs attached to the back of the blades of each knife. I went into detail about that process on page nine of this thread and in other places in the thread, if you care for more details. ;):)

Rob - Happy late birthday friend! The cabinet and knives all look great, especially after receiving the Primble magic touch!

Thank you Mark !!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::)

Brad - I apologize if I embarrassed you, my friend. :o:D

The first post in this thread said go ahead and post photos of "old" Belknap John Primbles, so here is mine. I suspect it to be a later, rather then "early" knife, but it does have a Belknap tang stamp. I haven't seen any photos of a Primble with a round shield, so that also makes me suspect this is of later origin.
I'm aware that Belknap Manufacturing shortened their name to "Belknap, Inc" in the late 60's, but other than that I have no idea of just when this was made, or by whom, but I suspect it to be late 60's/early 70's.
That's about all I know about this knife other than it is in pretty good condition, with some slight staining on the blades. It still "walks and talks", has tight blades with a good snap, and pristine scales. It measure exactly 4" closed. Any info would be appreciated, but in the meantime it will remain in my EDC rotation. Thanks ahead of time.

That tang stamp was used between 1968 and 1985. The star on the back of the tang indicates made by Boker for Belknap Hardware Company.

Nice condition !

Thank you so much for the info, I appreciate it.
This is my first Primble, but I hope it won't be my last. I was pretty sure it was a later knife from research I did here and on other forums, but as you said it's in good condition, so will be a good user.

Halfstop gifted me this model 4952 John Primble Belknap HDW. & MFG. Co. Jack knife, while I was attending the Rendezvous. The bone is quite beautiful on the old knife. I spent some time taking the high shine down to a semi gloss shine on the bolsters, shield, and blades, this morning. It turned out well. I will carry it a while and then add it to the Primble cabinet. Thank you again Ron for the fabulous knife ! The color of the bone is close to the same as the Primble that Gevonovich gifted me. ;):)

Edited 02-25-22 RIP my good friend !
