A gift from my mother tonight, when I went to her home to have home made vegetable soup for dinner. An old Primble hickory carbon steel kitchen knife, which she found at a flea market for two dollars, a long long time ago.

on the burner where my fire started a while back. :D

Primble - Wow! Another terrific knife (edit: make that two - I just saw your Primble Hickory kitchen knife too). I haven't been doing a good job keeping up with all the threads lately, but just checked in on this one and saw your baby doctor's knife. Wonderful example. I thought I'd add a photo of it's big brother for the family photo album:

Do you have any room left in that old John Primble display case of yours? :)

Thank you Stephen - that Doctor's knife of yours has some beautiful bone. What is the closed length of it ?

I could always squeeze in another Primble, but, you should keep it with your fine old knives, as I have that feeling that I know what you are up to.

;):D

Late to the party.....what a baby Doc!!! Man that thing is just splendid! Congratulations on the score, Primble:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks! I really like the bone on it too. I'll hang onto it for now, but let me know if you change your mind. ;) :) BTW, it's 4" closed.

Just fantastic bone on that knife, Stephen!! I did not guess it was 4 inches closed. I guess its an English Jack then.

It has taken me a while to clean the bone and get some white paint residue from the jigged bone on this ole Primble, however, the effort was worth it, IMO. :)

This knife was given to me by Old & in the Way a while back and it will now go in the Primble cabinet. Thank you again, my friend. 👍👍:)

Seeing your photos of that ISW was a perfect ending to a terrific day! Just wonderful. :) :D

Do I see a biblical creation narrative here?? You both did Michelangelo proud;)

Accidental Gevo, regarding the Michelangelo creation - but - I'll take the compliment !:eek::D

Thank you for the comments my friends.

I had a fine Easter and a great birthday yesterday - my family and local friends really spoiled me this year ! ;):D
