Scored one I’ve been after for a while now. Remington r123. Does anyone else in here have one they’d like to show off while I wait on mine to make it?View attachment 1763949

Here's one I sold a few years ago, been dealing with seller's remorse ever since:

Picked this up in an antique shop on my latest trip. They had no idea what it was, so we talked about this, and various other things for a bit. I was asked if the scales might be baleen, and I think that's a pretty fair question. I have no idea, but they do not seem to be wood; the grain is more like bone. Anyone?

Post them anytime!! I love old Relics!! Yours appear to be 150 years old, according to Goins'!! 😲
As best I can find - The Coquanoc Works of Howard W Shipley only appears for the American centennial exhibition held in Philadelphia in Fairmount park and then simply disappears

This is close to where I grew up hence my interest

The factory space is now an empty lot at 9th and Cecil B. Moore ave in North Philadelphia

I have another larger Ivory congress - but its not in the same place as these ones... I will have to add pictures when I get home

This one finally made it in! Here’s some pics of it next to my GEC 15 boy’s knife

Added an early Case family 3 5/8" jack this week, W.R.Case&Son, tang stamp with the Little Valley NY is fairly hard to find, apparently only used a couple years. Not too bad for its age, light snap on the main, warm glow to the wood covers.

Every time I see one of your posts, I leap for it, John, hoping it's yet another of your amazing finds!! My off again/on again relationship with Case surely appreciates this historic WR in fine shape!! Nice going once again!! A Goody!!! 😋

In honor of your nice find let me post a couple WRs from that same period, but made in Bradford, not Little Valley! No nice Red Wood (Coca??), but an older version of pick bone that they used!W.R.Case Pickbone 5.jpgWR EE Jack 1.jpg
