"Old Knives"

Been awhile since I've been able to add another Jumbo Jack to the collection. Landed a Cattaraugus 4 1/8" bone Jumbo last week, first bone handled one I've been able to find, most are wood.
Has all appearances of being an early Catt, never seen the jigging on a Catt before, hammered pins, mix of 4 line tang stamps, straight on main, arched on pen, no pattern number. Has a faint Cattaraugus Cutlery Our Best banner etch.
Last pic shows it next to an Ulster and a Walden Jumbo, I'm up to about a dozen Jumbo's now and it has taken years to find them.

That is a very interesting find on that Cattaraugus John. I don't have a single Cattaraugus knife with the 4 line straight style tang stamp. I know they used that tang stamp on some of their larger knives, including the King of the Woods hunting knives. I have a similar knife with the Indian trail jigging, otherwise appears to be the same jigging as yours. Mine has the long pulls and arched tang stamps, same shield, same closed length, and iron bolster. No model number on mine either. I always thought mine was an early Catt. Yours possibly pre-dates mine. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: ☺️

Both yours and mine, 100 percent original Catts, IMO.

Jay, those are some very nice Honk Falls folders and very scarce (as Eric says)! I know, it took me several years of turning over stones to find an example!

John, wonderful Jumbo jack:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you all for the comments.
Rob, thank you for your input, much appreciated. I have another Catt Jumbo in ebony and both blades have the arched tang stamp, as you state most of the straight line tang stamps were on larger knives and still not common, wonder why this one ended up with a straight line main.
On the bone, I know very little about early Catt knives, possibly the knife is early enough it's before they started adding the Indian Trail to the bone.

Thanks Charlie, pretty sure it will take awhile to catch up to you especially in quality. I keep trying, have not been able to get Great Eastern knives the last couple years so have been focusing on vintage.
