Thanks for taking some time to repost your knife. I do remember seeing it. This pattern is one I have seen the most examples of. Maybe a half dozen or so. The example I have has one side of the covers replaced. Whoever did it did a nice job of matching the bone jigging and color. It’s been suggested that this pattern was in production during the factory fire and subsequently many were recovered and repaired. I did find factory communications that confirm knives were recovered from the fire. I also have a pic of the factory after the fire that shows it was not a completely burned. As a side note Napanoch and later honk falls was not one building but actually two smaller buildings were on the property as well. Of the examples I’ve seen two had different jigged bone. Some years after honk falls was no longer in business some old parts were obtained and finished by folks. One who I’ve spoke to has a couple of this pattern knife. Here is a pic of mine. As you can see it is not in as good of condition as yours. Thanks againJay, here is my Honk Falls jack. I am sure you have seen photos of it before since I posted photos on the two websites

This right here is why it's good that I don't collect old knives; I just enjoy reading about them and then buy newer slipjoints for myself. Because there is no way I would be able to resist carrying that all the time (which would probably be inappropriate for conserving a classic like that). What a great knife! Va-va-va-VOOM!Nice Honk, Lloyd!!
And yours, James!!
I have one also, post fire, un-restored!! The fire roasted, and ruined the pile-side Handle!
Interestingly, the knife was never finish-ground, and has no Factory edge!
Lightly pitted, it's an historical relic!!!

I couldn’t imagine finding such a knife at the bottom of a bucket of clunkers - would have to be a highlight of that year of knife collecting wouldn’t it?Another Honk, probably posted before, found at the Oregon Knife Show at the bottom of a box of "junk" knives for a few pennies!!View attachment 1824549View attachment 1824550View attachment 1824551View attachment 1824552
Not "junk" by any stretch, lots of snap, and blade left; it has an interesting horizontal 'swell' at the butt of the handles, enhancing the grip!! A useful, and rare, trapper/jack!!
Nice Charlie! I’m still looking for a Honk in the junk bin at a garage sale. Not holding my breath though. I always felt like the butt end of the Honk trappers were remnants of the saddle horn knives Napanoch use to make for Sears and Case. They do fit the hand niceAnother Honk, probably posted before, found at the Oregon Knife Show at the bottom of a box of "junk" knives for a few pennies!!View attachment 1824549View attachment 1824550View attachment 1824551View attachment 1824552

Unbelievably nice knives Charlie. You can see the resemblanceNapanoch Saddlehorns, labeled "Wilbert", for Sears!!View attachment 1824877View attachment 1824878
The pattern is a bit different than the trappers!
This old LB below might have the same pattern, Made by Napanoch for Pacific Cutlery!!
