"Old Knives"

I just picked up this Clauss jack. It appears to be a Case 6216. There's not a lot of info that I can find about the folding knives Clauss sold. 1) Any ideas what era this was produced? 2) Would this be considered greenbone?

Clauss had knives made by several different companies over many years. Most of the Case made ones like yours seem to be from the Tested era and early XX era. They say if you take the shield off a Case made Clauss it will have Case on the back.
Here is another example of a Case made Clauss, most likely Tested era green bone and a rare pattern.

Thanks for the info. That's a beautiful example you have there.

A fatty, Robeson 22250 jumbo, 3 7/8" and thick. Has seen plenty of hard use but still tight with bear trap snaps.
This one was a real workhorse and shows some damage from use.View attachment 2063097View attachment 2063098View attachment 2063099View attachment 2063100View attachment 2063101View attachment 2063102View attachment 2063103
Nice Robeson John, it’s hard to find those beefy jacks, It’s amazing to see what the old well made knives have taken as a beating and still snap like a bear trap. This AJ Jordan isn’t as beefy but took a beating on the handles and the butt… still snaps loud though.
