"Old Knives"

There's not a lot of blade left on this one, but it has interesting tang stamps.
"S Bros Excel" with "Silberstein Bros" on the reverse. No country of origin. My google-fu tells me that an A.L.Silberstein owned Griffon Cutlery Works, so maybe there's a connection.

I haven't been very active the past 6 to 8 months, I've missed some great knives! I'll share a few additions to the collection.

This pair of cattle knives were posted in the round up thread shortly after their arrival, they belong here as well.

Rob, you're "killin' it" with that Challenge jack, and by it I mean Duncan . . . . I'm afraid we might lose him by pining away for that amazing knife!

Such a wonderful Jack!!! You showed a real nice collection Rob, but this one stands out!!
Challenge had some beautiful cocobolo, combined with the shield and the big fat clip it makes a handsome jack. From that era, It's the most well preserved knife in my collection.
Here's a couple of shots in shade that show the grinds better. Still a little oil smudge on the mark side. Thanks for the compliment, Charlie 20230107_120324.jpg20230107_120515.jpg
