"Old Knives"

Love That Photo Barrett matey!

Paul's darned busy, but he has a gorgeous Keen Kutter Carving Set, as well as some Axe heads like that- that would make a nicely staged photo like yours!

Yes; I like that knife to carry. I think the tang stamp is largely gone and there may have been another crane there (viz. "kissing cranes" brand?). Knice knife.

I have one of those ruler knives but it isn't old, really and it is stainless from Japan. Good knife.

An unusual Schrade Cut Co made Shapleigh Diamond Edge 4" stockman. Don't see many with punches but what makes it real unusual is the main blade is a spey, it is etched and has a pattern number C832, don't recall many stockmans with spey mains. Can't quite make out the etch but it appears to be "Thrasher's" something.

Love those Cal!

That Ulster is a beauty! I honestly believe that if you needed just the ONE Knife for life? That would do the job! Camillus and Ulster made the Craftsman as you know but Ulster edged out Camillus quickly -man there is so so much to learn behind the scenes. That's been used but nicely- do you carry that Beast Cal?

Bokers Punch! Love it! In fact that complete knife is quite outstanding 😲

I was bored today and went through a box of my grandpa's old knives and cleaned up a Premier Lifetime Scout K78 that hasn't seen the light of day in a while. It was in pretty grungy condition, but after round 1 of cleaning, oiling and polishing, it's looking good. Sharpened up the primary blade on some diamond stones and ceramic rod. Not sure if the handles are jigged bone or some type of antler.

We are having a tremendous wet "grass" year in NE Wyoming and I just felt like looking at knives favored by stockmen today. Edit: "By Michael Little, 23 November 2010: “1941/42 Fall/Winter catalog. Sold for 98 cents. At the time, Camillus was still making the Dunlap brand for Sears. Ulster was making the Craftsman brand. Camillus was still using the spiral punch. Nice knife for an early WWII era civilian knife. Especially if the light etch is still there.”"
